Inauthentic Behavior?

After some probing around, it seems that I actually do have an X account in my name. Likely that someone found my email address and name and set up a bogus account. When or how I have no idea. I did notify X that my account is Inauthentic Behavior and to kill it. I always thought X/Twitter was free. In fact there is a fee, and it varies by the type of service options you want.

If there is an account in your name and your email was used, try to login and change the password. If your email was used, a conformation code will show up.

If your email was used to set up an account, then your email is compromised, too.

I have already done that. I changed the X password so I was able to get into X. I was unable to deactivate the X account by going thru the menu, so I messaged the X account help and requested a complete account deactivation because it was a bogus account. I have not yet received a response. I have also changed my email password.

I get those spam/scam emails daily. Your AOL account has been closed. Your Netflix account will be closed. Your McAfee subscription has expired. Payment declined etc. I get notices for accounts I don't even have. All fake of course. Easily determined by scrolling over the "From" address.

I got a good one yesterday, had my full name, address, and cell phone number. Demanding $2000.00 or they would send nude pictures of me to all of my contacts and business associates. Do I need to check my shower for a hidden camera? Origin of email, Czech Republic, thru a German server.
I have until 4 PM today to pay by Bitcoin. Watch your emails for the pictures!

Ewwwww! Double Ewwww!

Every time I visit a doctor--any doctor--I can expect 3-4 days of medical scam calls. Thank you, Obamacare.

What is freaky about it is the combination of my name with the work address which I do frequently use, 2 of my CC bills go to that address BUT my cell phone is not associated with that address or the business. I do know that there is some of my personal info on the "dark web". I best keep a close watch on my credit card accounts.

Oh, that’s nothing. Every so often, I get a message from someone claiming to be a moderator. I get a tongue lashing and threat to get excommunicated if I don’t straighten up. And I’m still here.

I get a text or email confirming payments on my accounts (that don't exist) just about every day. It's an unpleasant byproduct of having worked near Russia, internet scam capital of the world.

You folks may not know this, but the staff has blocked/banned over 1000 spammers/scammers on the forum since Christmas. The majority are from Russia.
We're at war...

In other words, Russia has conquered Nigeria and that has been completely ignored by the New York Times. My faith in the New york Times has been DESTROYED!

"Russia is the major source of phishing attacks around the globe. In 2023, it accounted for over 30 percent of total unsolicited spam e-mails. Within one day, over seven billion spam e-mails were sent from Russia as of January 16, 2023, which was the fifth-highest number worldwide. Furthermore, domestic users faced an increasing number of cyber threats, such as data breaches, malware attacks, and digital fraud cases, in recent years. The end-user spending on information security solutions was forecast to increase to 132 billion Russian rubles in 2025."
