Info on 629-4 Trail Boss?

I have a ported 629-4 Trail Boss on layaway. I had never heard of it before, but when I saw it, I had to have it. Can't find much info on it.

Never saw one before, but I agree, I would have probably bought that one too. Looks like some beautiful Hogue grips that just set that gun off - perfect balance. I really like it. Have you shot it yet? Looks like you lucked up on a lifetime keeper gun. Bassoneer

Thanks. I will pick it up on Sat and head right to the range. Going to pay it off today. This will be my 3rd 629. I like em! Got a feeling this will be my favorite.

I have a -4 Trail Boss too. I love it, but I'm afraid I don't know much info about the gun either.

I need to call Smith and Wesson and find out how many were made. Can't be many as they are not listed in the Gun Bible. At least the copy I looked at anyway.

I bought one of them new several years ago. They are fun to shoot. They are attention getters.

Here is the slightly newer version of your gun, it is the "Deluxe Anniversary Edition Trail Boss" made in 2002. It is the same as yours but with the high polish finish and some commemorative engraving on the barrel, and yes the lock. I really like the gun, recoil was not as bad as I expected, it's stout, but not bad, I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

Nice looking pair! That high polish will blind your attacker.
