Inside the pants holster for M&P 45 Full Size

I'm looking for an inexpensive inside the waistband holster for my new M&P 45FS. I won't be wearing it very often in that I have the smaller M&P 9c for daily wear.

Any suggestions?

What are your thoughts about an Uncle Mike's holster?

I hate to say it because I don't want to insult anyone's choice but Uncle Mike's is what it is...cheap. Bianchi has some inexpensive leather IWB holsters but they aren't really good for actually getting the gun out. They have a belt clip and I've practiced drawing from it and between it not always grabbing the side of the belt and then the thumb break, I got really frustrated with it. Kydex is probably the best since it holds it's shape for holstering and unholstering but Kydex and inexpensive don't always go together. My favorite holster is the Raven Phantom and they aren't inexpensive but they are designed to be modular so just by changing the mounting hardware you can go from an OWB holster to an IWB holster in about 5 minutes. I've experimented with lots of holsters and I hate to say it but Kydex does a much better job, although a bit more uncomfortable than leather or nylon. Blade-Tech, Comp-Tac, Safariland and Raven make some of the best IWB and OWB holsters but that nylon stuff will lose it's shape quickly and just doesn't seem to hold up, even at a casual pace of use.

If you haven't checked into the 3 Speed Holster, then I suggest you look into them. They are not as inexpensive as an Uncle Mikes, but I think they are great for the price. If you are LE, Security Officer, Military or Veteran you get a nice discount too.

I have one and it wears very comfortably. It also does everything that the developer/maker says about . Between my 3 Speed and my Remoras I am set for concealed carry.

I currently use the Remora (11 ART RFT) for my FS M&P 45. Works great for me and it was only $29.95. I use it as my EDC and love it. It may not be for everyone but if you aren't going to use it much and you will have some sort of tension (like a belt or semi-tight waist pants), it would be a cheap and easy option for when you want to carry it. The nice thing is, is that it can be easily put in whatever position you want (including cant) and it stays.

I was looking at these today on the net and was wondering how they would work with my FS M&P9. I'm having some issues with carry as I'm 5'4" but like to carry a Large pistol. Didn't have too much trouble with my Glock 23 (except I didn't like the grip) in a Desantis Intruder. The intruder works OK and is comfortble but isn't as adjustable as I need. Also looking at the White Hat Max Tuck for the adjustability and Horse hide.

Buy the best quality holster you can afford....many on here like Milt Sparks VM-2's....not a cheap solution but one of the VERY best offered by anyone. I also like Kramer #3 IWB. Make sure to use a very sturdy belt as well. All major makers offer an IWB holster for the M&P Full Size. Decide on what you want and how much is too much....and built your selection around that.

Times are hard right now but could be harder

I know that it is possible to buy an inexpensive holster for the range but if you need to carry every day or want to carry every day then you need the best holster that money can buy or close to it!

The MTAC Minotaur is my choice as it fits all my M&P's if you look at my signature I have five of them from 9mm to full size 45's.

I usually carry the 40c at about the 4:30 position and can sit in a vehicle with only the slightest discomfort using this holster. It retains all my M&P' regardless of size and the CANT and DEPTH of concealment are adjustable, I have even placed my Model 59 in it and it works just as well with it. So you can buy several cheap holster to accommodate several guns or do like I do and buy one expensive one time holster and be comfortable with the MTAC and for the range the BlackHawk retention holster for about 28 bucks each at Academy Sports.

Hey you have a great gun why put it in a cheap holster that is not sufficient for the job, might as well stuff it in your waistband and be a gangsta and shoot your weapon sideways and look stupid especially when it don't work like on TV!
