Hey Everyone, I just got my ameriglo hack thorn sights in and was debating on weather I should take these to a gun smith or do it myself? I wouldn't mind going to a gun smith but I dont know of any in the area. I have a gander mt and a dicks sporting goods but I dont know if I trust them to do the job.

I've seen some hatchet jobs on M&Ps. Some sights are really stuck.
Also, you might want to look at the Dawson video on installing sights if you don't know how to fit them. Bashing them in is not the right answer.

I agree with OKFC05. I have seen more handguns with trial & error skid marks than I can recall accurately. Unless you have tools & prior experiences in g'smithing, a gunsmith is well worth the cost. Experience is a costly teacher.

Don't go to dick's or gander mountain. Go to a dedicated gunsmith. Mine were absolutely stuck and he used a sight pusher after soaking them in some sort of lubricator. What gun are you talking about anyway? Mine is a Shield.

Hmm sounds like Im going to have to find a gunsmith in the area then

I'm all for doing things myself and learning. But at least make sure you're using the right tools for the job. Everyone has to learn sometime. If you do decide to go through with it, do a lot of research and get the right gear. But know when/if you're in over your head.

James Nicholas aka "XDman" He has many satisfied clients including me. He is a fantastic gunsmith. Fast turnaround for sight installs. If you buy sights from him, installation is included. If you provide your own sights, installation is $25 plus shipping both ways.
