Interesting Photo Thread

There was a place, long ago and far away, where I would post photos for the enjoyment (hopefully!) of those who frequented that particular place.

I know there are many really good photographers here. And there are photographers who, while not considering themselves very good, still have photos they're proud of and want to show off.

This thread is for photos we want to share. Random photos that don't really deserve a thread of their own (some photos certainly do!), but still beg to be seen. Subjects could include (but aren't limited to): Travel, humor, wildlife, firearms, hobbies, well, you get the picture. (pun!)

It should go without saying that they should be family-friendly!

Wolf in the woods

My new to me 26 year old Wolf showing pretty effective camo pattern.

First is a picture my wife took of a fox on our patio and the others are some I took in Guantanamo bay. The cannon is Spanish from the 1500's and was last fired during the Spanish/American war. It was at a different location further in up in the bay and was fired at US ships. It is now part of a memorial for Marines killed in the fighting there.

I'll throw my 1st place winner in 2010 at our state fair for wildlife category. No post processing allow in this contest.
Taken with a $200 underwater point and shoot camera, at 25 feet off a reef in Oahu, HI. This area is known as the "Turtle Car Wash" as they get their shells cleaned of parasites by the black fish.

and summer fun in Yellowstone. Sometimes you just have to sit back and wait for the action. There were a group of cow elk and calf elk that this idiot thought would be fun to have have his friend photograph him with. It ain't a petting zoo, Jack.

Wow, great photos!

The sea turtle is stunning!

The cannon was pretty cool, too, what with all the history behind it.

And I watched a guy in Yellowstone doing the same thing with a cow elk (who had a calf behind her!), and it was clearly agitated. Thankfully for him, a ranger came along and told him to get away from it.
