INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

Well, I got the M36 up & running just fine.

Laziness (and nervousness) talked me out of removing the side plate, at least for the first try.

Instead I got a can of Birchwood Casey "gun scrubber" and removed the grips. I squirted it down every opening on the gun - and some dark gunk ran out. I let it soak for a while, then hosed it again - this time the "stuff" was only brown. Let it soak again - and it came out clear!

Now it's back to normal! :)

Thanks for all the tips & encouragement.

I was at the range this morning and forgot all about this. I burned up three boxes of ammo through my 2 inch S&W Model 12-2. Jeez.

Same here. I took my just purchased 2 1/2" Model 66-4 to the range and put two boxes of 158 gr LSWCs and a box of my .38 +P self defense loads through it.

The sights were way off to the left and low, so I assume the previous owner had some trigger control issues. Once I got it zeroed it was driving tacks with 125 gr XTPs at 7 yards - as in nice one hole groups.

The DA trigger is quite good so I suspect that it's capable of very good DA one hand groups as well - I just didn't think of it at the time.

M36

greetings,

Here is my entry. Cell phone dead, so no pic of gun & ruler, but it really doesn't matter as I did poorly again. This confirms that I REALLY have to paint the skinny front sight, as it was very nearly invisible. That surely doesn't help, when you can't see the sight.... :(

WINNER for September is Wyo with a 1.07" group.

We all win when we go out and shoot.

For October, 10 rounds TWO hands, 5 yards.

I would like to see some one hole groups.

10 shots, two hands, DA, with my recently acquired 2.5" Model 66, which has a very, very nice trigger.

This was a little tough as the aim point disappeared with 10 rounds.

The longest dimension in the group was vertical. With the tearing of the paper when the backer got chewed up by the small group it's hard to be precise and I have to estimate the edge of the bottom shot.

I'm going to call it 1.2" edge to edge and .843" center to center.

M36

Greetings,

I had to shoot this one from 25 feet, so decided to go DA.
S&W M36, Fed AE 158 LRN
First try with sight painted green
Group size 5-1/16" & low - nothing to brag about

Still have trouble with that skinny front sight!

Ruger Speed Six

Greetings,

The better of my two efforts.
Still from 25ft, SA only
Ruger Speed Six, 2-3/4" bbl
9mm Luger, WW 124 NATO FMJ
group size 3-3/8"

That fat front sight sure helps - now to get the POI up where it belongs!

My entries for October. Best group of those shot with three guns. It occurs to me I forgot to include a ruler in the photos, but the group sizes I measured are shown on the targets:

Next is the group with a Model 60. I don't shoot it as well as the Model 10. Those stainless sights are hard to see!

Finally, a Model 34 snub. I wasn't even sure .22's were legal for this, but it is a snub after all:

Awesome.

A 2 3/4" Speed Six in 9mm Luger is a bucket list gun for me.

No pic of target this month, but with my S&W 640 Centennial shooting full house magnum loads I measured the group at 1.9"

Too bad I didn't stop at 7 shots as those measured a hair under an inch. I could cover the hole with a quarter.

The winner for October is Wyo with .753" for 10 shots with a model 10. Great shooting! I was looking for one hole groups and saw a few.

Thanks to all that entered.

Now we are going to move it back before it gets too cold to shoot outside.

For this month of November, 50 feet, resting on anything you want. Gun can touch NOTHING. Wrists on a rolled up towel, Out your car window (only if its legal), or off a bench. Do as you wish. No resting the butt or barrel. Hold it in your hands. 10 shots, DA or SA if you have it. I will be doing it with my 637 using both Iron sights and the CT laser grip sights.

Best of luck,
Enter early Enter often!

Congrats to Wyo - you set the bar high & give the rest of us something to strive for! ;)

OK folks,

Here we go again.

For December, 5 shots right hand, 5 shots left hand on the same target. 7 yards. DA or SA which ever you prefer, please disclose which you use.

Apologise for being late this month.

David
