Is it Spring yet?

Yes I live in New England.
And I know that it's my choice.
But right now I can't stand the weather.
In snow days, I do not rejoice.

The cold and wind. From snow to rain.
The shoveling, oh it's such a pain.
It's an energetic and financial drain.
And next week we'll do it all again?

Snow can be pretty. So can ice.
But not on my driveway or walk.
I have to shovel or I'll get fined.
I can't procrastinate, stall, or balk.

The exit of old man Winter,
Can't come too soon for me.
I want the sunshine of Springtime.
To feel it's sweet warmth in the breeze.

One good reason for craving the Springtime.
To you this logic will not seem strange.
Besides the end of the cold and the snowflakes.
I'll get to go shoot at my range!

I finished using the Snow Blower and shovel about an hour ago. We only got about 4" but it was more slush than snow and extremely heavy. My new Ariens Deluxe actually handled the slush better than I had expected.

Now we'll see how many of us loose power after all this stuff freezes later.

The private plow jockey my wife hired to help me didn't really help me either. Made more of a problem for me!
It's over and done with and cleaned up for now!

I finished a couple of hours ago. About the same amount of snow, maybe a bit more. Heavy rain turned it into slush, except at the end of the driveway. Which is where I snapped a shear pin. Fortunately, I have several of those, so it only took a bit to fix it.

Right now, it's 48 degrees so the snow is melting fast. Once the temperature drops, that of course will freeze.

On the bright side, I had plenty of time to build the wiring harness for my new car stereo. Now all I need is for the mounting bracket to arrive and the snow to melt.

My wife spent the day cooking a delicious beef stew.

Nice and toasty here in the desert. It's 87 down from 92 clear blue sky wildflowers in the desert, now time for an afternoon drink of an adult beverage and a good cigar. Ahhhhh......life is good.

Judging by the 6 inch centipede at my girlfriend's work and the slew of scorpions I killed in the yard Sunday evening, I'd say that spring is coming here in Vegas.

She's new, but you could hear her straining to get through the wall at the bottom of the driveway.

30"+. I think it might be the biggest single snowfall I've seen up here, and definitely the biggest snowfall in March.

But Spring Bullseye is just 29 days away, and bass season isn't much further past that.

It can't decide what it is here.It was spring last month and now winter has returned. It was in the 70's and 80's in February and now it's back to the 30's and 40's.

Nooo, as much as I'd like to I must decline. My earliest experience with a snow shovel was as a yonker visiting family in East Liberty, PA... both before and after the plow cleared the trolley line in the sett paved street. The odd time after that was no better.

75 in Denver today, playing golf this morning. Spent a couple hours at the range yesterday. This year hardly qualified as winter.

The biggest problem here was the wind. It took down a shutter off the front of TTSH Manor. Hope it wasn't damaged beyond fixing 'cause it's a type & design that I can't easily match.

And yes, the snow here was essentially slush. Man, was that ever heavy, messy stuff to move. The good news is that at least it slid off the vehicles easily. Also, no extended power outage (just one brief burp!). I was amazed.

The good wife was cooking all day here too. We were very fortunate that she had the day off. She made a ham & spinach quiche, a couple banana breads and a fabulous chicken pot pie.

It can't decide what it is here.It was spring last month and now winter has returned. It was in the 70's and 80's in February and now it's back to the 30's and 40's.

Literally two weekends ago the temp. Here was 60*. Starting last Saturday temps. were below zero all culminating in the Nor'easter we just had. Then, lake effect snow afterwards.
All told after todays snowfall I have 32" of fresh snow. Temps are predicted to remain in the low to mid 20's for the next several days. MAN I can't wait for Spring!

The only time I started the snowblower was to see if it would start. Shoveled the 150' driveway four times cause the snow was so light and scant.

In the sixties tomorrow. I can feel spring around the corner it just needs to hurry.

Good to hear you folks blasted with big snows are digging out okay.

Here in Central IL we've missed all the snow but the temp extremes are severe. This morning it was 14 degrees. Forecast for Friday is low to mid-60's! Two weeks ago Saturday I mowed the yard and put the shovels in the shed.

It's 10 here right now. They said 95 in Phoenix for the race this weekend. If you sent 30 of those degrees up here we'd both be more comfortable.

Neighbor heard a Meadowlark singing at his place today.. That bird is in deep doo-doo.

We start calving the first blizzard in April. It takes a snow storm to get the old gals shelling out their calves. Bushes and flowers are starting to show some life. They will get nipped in that April storm.

So yeah, Spring is here.

I work nights, outside. I work for a distribution center driving a yard truck and shuttling trailers around so I'm working in the weather all night. The cold I can deal with, the rain sucks a little, the snow is just amusing, but I'm sick of the ice.
