Is my 3 lb full sized semi auto pistol obsolete?

You know guys, we are all looking for that one that carry's like an LCP, shoots like a CZ Shadow or Colt Gold Cup, hits like a 29 Smith, and holds two dozen rounds. Oh, and it needs to sell for $500. Sadly,I think we're out of luck, at least until the Phaser thing from Star Trek comes on line. In the meantime it's all about compromise. The best handgun to defend oneself with will always be the one you actually have with you….ALL the time. A good, solid, heavy and accurate handgun is great at home for SD. If you can comfortably carry and conceal it, go for it. Whatever we choose to carry it has to work for us individually. Choose wisely.

Buy proper gear and carry whatever you want to carry.

I carry a full size M&P with weapon light and RMR all year long. I carry little guns as back up guns.
I live in a suburb of Detroit so the cute little pickete guns do not hold enough rounds to make sense to use as a primary gun.

I carry the above gun, two spare mags, and with a j-frame or shield as back up for 16+ hours a day with no issues because I have quality gear.
If your belt cost $50 you're going to have issues because a good belt can't be made at that price.

Remove your belt from your pants, put your full holster on it and spare mags, now put your hands a foot away from the equipment on each side and pick it up, if the belt is not straight throw it away and buy a better one.

Before New Jersey carry permit was even a remote possibility, I acquired an all stainless stainless Sig P226 that weighs just over 3 lbs fully loaded. It quickly became my favorite range gun and the gun I would rely on at home if the need should arise.

But know New Jersey has carry permits and I practice with a pocket sized P365, carry it often and gave it at the ready at home. Seems like the P226 is obsolete.

Silly question..........IF you like it. It's not obsolete.......Nobody's opinion should matter to you but your own.
