M 15-4ever, Yes I tried that, went outside to a safe place, with loaded rounds, even with 22lr makes a difference, 10 rounds weighs a little over one ounce, it locks in way better with loaded rounds, thanks for the good info, S&W did not let me know that when I called them..I'll also note that the revolver is supposed to be tested for DCU with action-proving dummies, which are similar to the weight of loaded rounds. The cylinder is designed to carry up properly when loaded... at least that what I was taught at S&W. Perhaps in a .22 rimfire the difference is not significant.
