Is this guy carrying? What do you think?

I don't find it odd because when I'm wearing cargo shorts and carrying a large gun like either of my 40 cals (S&W 410 or Taurus PT140SS) that's exactly the way I wear my fanny pack. It's accessible and if I wear it in the front, I look like a circus clown (I'm 5' 8" and 210 lbs so there's enough out front already). I actually prefer to carry much smaller stuff with shorts (Kel-Tec P3AT or titanium J-frame .357 Taurus).

Yep . . . probably a steel framed 1911 type high cap.

Probably an extra magazine for same in his lower right pocket.

He doesn't look like a gang banger . . . just a typical gun enthusiast looking to expand his collection. Probably has a license too.

Obviously, he didn't go on a rampage in the store either or we'd have heard about it on CNN.

Just a typical Joe . . .

T.

I have a Bulldog fanny pack just like he has but don't use it unless I'm out biking or something to that effect. As you see if you wear it in front which is what I'd prefer so you could access your weapon faster the fanny pack sticks way out their like your giving birth so I don't wear mine except on certain occasions. Anyone know of a slimmer fannypack that doesn't draw attention?

If anyone is panicked by the possibility that this guy might be letting folks know he's carrying a gun, I suggest that he or she avoid open-carry states, police stations and the like. As far as fashion, I barely care about it in females, reserving my observation for more essential details. Men? Who cares?

Some guys can just get away with it.

I use a fanny-pack (poor name cause it's never on my fanny ) made by "Bagmaster". I use it when it's not convenient or comfortable to conceal carry in some other way.

What's important to me is that I have my firearm with me.

What about fashion ...... I could give a rats rear-end about fashion. I let my wife and daughters worry about fashion. :D

What about someone else guessing that I'm carrying? I doubt it, the general public doesn't think that way. Probably 99% of the folks out in public don't give it a thought. What if someone does correctly guess that I'm carrying? If it's in my fanny-pack ( :rolleyes:I hate that name) , holstered under my shirt or in my pocket...I don't care. I'm legal to carry and I don't care if they know or not. I don't flaunt the fact that I'm carrying, but I've carried concealed for years, and I stopped worrying about someone knowing a long time ago.

Bracelet man need to keep his finger off the trigger.

I believe that's rule #2 and he failed that too.

Was wondering why it took so long for someone to notice. If he is a LEO, he should know better. And, yes, I agree that the combination cargo shorts/white legs should be a felony.

Just a hunch, but I'd say yes. Right cargo pocket looks like there might be a flashlight in it.
The thing in front of the fanny pack kinda looks like the clip from a Crossbreed or similar tuckable holster. Also notice what appears to be a slight bulge under the shirt just above the clip.

Any time I see a fanny pack it screams "GUN" to me.

Me too. Almost as much as the khaki "tactical vests" that hang down well below the belt. Might as well have a flashing neon sign on your back "I'm carrying a concealed weapon".

But, the average schmo would never notice.

Not all persons wearing fanny packs are packing, many are tourists, bike riders, etc. I'm planning on buying a bike this summer (the pedal kind) and was looking into getting a fanny pack for CCW and other stuff, (but I would wear mine in front as they should be). After reading these posts, I'm glad I didn't ask anyone on here for advice on a good one.

Also, I don't get the problem with the cargo shorts. I would have thought cargo shorts/pants to be commonly worn by the CCW crowd. They are the best way to go for pocket carry if you don't want some big bore gun jammed between your hip. I plan on buying few pairs myself.

There are far worse bozos out there then this guy deserving criticism. He could have chosen a less conspicuous looking fanny pack and worn it differently, other then that I don't see what the big deal is.

I suspect he moved it to the side so he could lean against the display cabinet while looking at the hardware.

I also wonder at the wisdom of photographing someone who you suspect is carrying and you don't know his attitude about being photographed.

Where is this gun store?

That looks like a couple of TSW's sitting in the top left of the cabinet.....

Well, If I did use a fanny pack, these days it would have in it:
1. spare sun/eyeglasses
2. hearing aid case
3. breathing inhaler
4. wallet
5. other assorted stuff I find in my pockets

Seems like the older I get the more stuff I have to lug around. I probably need a purse...but that ain't gonna happen. I don't live in San Freaksisco.

But a gun...naaaaaaaaa
