I killed a nice 10 pt. on opening weekend. Tonight we sup'd on backstrap, brown gravy, mashed potato and salad. The meat was sooo wonderful: tender and wonderfully favor filled. I seasoned it just like a steak (pepper, garlic salt and onion powder) and grilled it briefly on hot fire. I'm setting here now feeling contented and full. I wish all of the deer was tenderloin. This is as good as it gets - at least in my story.

The red wine is a fine compliment. Cheers!

You sound like a man content. Smart enough to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

I enjoyed the same exact experience as you a few days ago. It is a lot of work and responsibility after you pull that trigger or release that arrow, but it is worth it. Congrats.

Got pictures???
