I don't understand how over here on a respected gun forum there is an anti Mike Coffman add at the top of the page. He's one of the last Republican pro gun congressmen we have left in Colorado. With all the antigun laws that's being implemented , it's a very sore subject for me. It is certainly very unexpected from this site, I'm very disappointed to say the least.

It's part of an ad package thing, usually from google ads, S&W Forum admins really don't have control over content in them. If you don't like the ads, simply ignore them. I like the forums and these ads whether you like them or not these ads generate revenue so they can keep the servers running for this place.

This site is "Not" anti republican but is "Very Much"
anti-political. The way it should be. This site is about
the enjoyment of guns.
The Forum and it's owner have no control over the Ads
run surrounding this page. Just so you know.....

A lot of times those ads are based on your browsing history, everytime
I go to Cabela's.com then come here I have a bunch of Cabela's ads.

The following replies are spot on, with regard to the ad content:

The owner does not select the Google Ads, but he has no qualms about using monies from those with opposing points of view to help subsidize this forum.
I seriously doubt many members will be swayed by those ads. Would you prefer that they use their advertising dollars on a more receptive audience? Personally, I wish they would spend ALL their money here!

The owner does have say over posted content and sets the rules.
Please note:
The following topics are BANNED on this Board:

Political Discussion and Comment
It's not that we don't have strong opinions on the above issues, it's that discussion tends to get heated, cause hard feelings and takes up too much of our time. We're here to talk S&W.

This makes a good read to those who responded to this thread with political commentary:

My question is, does making a contribution and becoming a "supporting" member if the site turn some of the ad banners off? I know the bills gotta be paid around here somehow and ads are the way to do it. But other sites I'm on regularly block a lot of the ads for you if you make a contribution supporting the site. I'm willing to do that if it will stop some of the ads and speed up the site for me...
Yes, contributing to the forum eliminates all but the top banner ad, expands your PM storage capacity and offers additional benefits.

It's outlined in this link: Donations
