Is this the 'end-all' for caliber wars?

The only things which have changed since 1989 are the names of some of those who shill for the ammo companies and the expensive trick bullets they produce. Every point is just as valid today as it was 24 years ago.

Until last year at Church I typically carried a 32 and my best friend carried a 357 Sig. When asked why we felt our respective calibers were sufficient I replied: I figure my role is to provide suppressive fire until my friend wakes up and takes over.

I've started carrying a 40 S&W though because large animals have become a real concern where we live.

Another attempt by the lesser calibers to supplant the awesome power and magic of the venerable .45acp. I scoff at them!

I,Sir, scoff at your wimpy .45acp. Everyone knows real men go for the full nuclear power level offered by the 10mm.

Haven't seen this mentioned before, but...consider the US Armed Forces, limited to FMJs?? Knowing whoever they're shooting at is NOT hampered by silly rules or laws...yeh,, the UN..I'm sure the Taliban reads the rules...no matter the calibre, talk about 'what were they thinking..'? We can use HPs but those defedning our freedom to do so can't.

1. Bullet placement.

2. Penetration.

3. Damage.

If you don't hit, it don't matter what you're using. If the bullet don't reach the kill switch, you may not stop who you're shooting. If you don't do enough damage to what you do hit, you may not stop who you're shooting fast enough.

Since I'm a .38/.357 revolver guy, I favor Speer Short Barrel 135 grain JHP .38 Special +P or Buffalo Bore 158 grain LSWC-HC-GC .38 Special (standard pressure) in my .38s and Remington 125 grain .357 Magnum in my .357 Magnums. They are the most accurate out of my guns; they will penetrate; they will do the necessary damage.

Just sayin'.

Studies are informative. Shot placement, shot placement, shot placement is the key. Use the weapon that YOU shoot the best with and can consistently hit where you need to.

Well, when the subject is caliber, I address that subject. When the subject is tactics or mind set, I'll address those.
