To get the side plate off and the rest of the internals removed, just to hook your finger, on the sharp, top corner of the frame by the trigger, causing it to bleed, resulting in a 10 minute timeout. Arghhh, good thing there was a beer in the fridge.

When I was young, broke, and had to work on the old cars that were all I could afford, I always had barked knuckles and sliced fingers. My dad just used to laugh. He reckoned jobs on old cars were incomplete until blessed with blood. Guess my immune system and tetanus shots were up to the task.

I have been in the knife sharpening game for a few months now. I tend to make them too sharp and now my wife buys the Costco 3 pack box of band-aids. Just minor cuts but I always have the near by - lol.
Come now guys, surely you all know that virtually no mechanical job is successfully completed without a blood sacrifice to the tool god.

I doubt I can reveal most of my 'incantations' on this forum without a timeout.
I used to work in a department store with a sporting goods section. We carried a lot of knives. At Christmastime we would keep boxes of Band-Aids under the counter. Too many people who don't know how to handle a knife buying them as gifts. Some days there was more blood than at Dracula's New Years Eve party.
I am nursing a small but bothersome cut on my social fingertip, I was just checking out my straight razor collection.

One of the worst firearms related injuries I ever saw was a hobby gunsmith accidently ran his arm over the lower frame of a Winchester 1873 rifle.
The lower edges of the '73 do a great imitation of a double bladed razor.
That one had me doing a fast ride to the ER while trying to help him stop the bleeding.
The inside of the car looked like a werewolf had been turned loose.
He got a LOT of stitches.

Sorta makes you want to buy a Ruger.
I leak a lot.
That would be the main reason I stay away from duct work or other sheet metal work. At least two ER visits that I can remember were the finishing touch on sheet metal work by me.

I have a replica 1873 and have not noticed any edges that sharp anywhere. What part did the cut?
