I shot my S&W MP 2.0 Shield Performance Center .45 the other night. I experienced several failure to feed ammo issues while shooting. I was using Magtech 230 grain .45 Lot# 1705. Unfortunately it was the only brand and box of .45 ammo I had.

Either the slide would stay locked back and the round would not seat properly or the slide would close and the gun wouldn't fire because no round cycled into the chamber. I know it's the ammo because when I first bought the gun I fired Winchester 230 grain in it and it cycled fine. The gun is newer, purchased last year. I only have about two hundred rounds through it.

Anyone else experience issues with Magtech ammo??

I’ve shot lots of their 9mm 115gr without any problems in Walther and Ruger carbine. I’ve used their 44mag ammo in my 629 which isn’t saying much in a revolver but I’ve also shot it in my old Ruger 44 carbine without issues……….. some guns just don’t like some ammo I suppose.

Not saying it's not the ammo -- a good test would be to try some of it in another known good pistol. Don't assume the magazine is okay just because it's worked before. After all, if it's messed up it got that way at some point.

While no manufacturer is perfect, I’ve fired many thousands of rounds of Magtech 9mm with nary an issue. It has supplanted CCI Lawman as my preferred “range ammo.”

Not saying the ammo isn’t the problem, but based on the description of the malfunctions I think I’d eliminate potential magazine issues first.

Magtech

I tried a box of Magtech I ordered through the Military ShopMyExchange website a couple of years ago and after only a magazine full found it to produce a great deal of soot, maybe it was just a bad lot, or maybe they sent their factory seconds to the Exchange, don't know, but I did not use any more rounds in that box. My current preferred 9mm ammo is Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr FlexLock, it is incredibly accurate, extremely clean, and seems to have a very flat trajectory, hits the same point of aim at 10 feet as it does at 75 feet.

Have used Magtech .45 ACP ammo with no problems. First clean the pistol thoroughly including the magazines. Try the pistol with a different brand of ammo. If all works fine, then retry the Magtech. Could be a bad lot of ammo, if so contact Magtech Customer Service, worst that can happen is they tell you it is not their ammo.

Lots of Magtech no issues. Sounds like a magazine issue. Can you try a different magazine to narrow the problem down. ?
