A most disquieting experience.

Yesterday I assumed my position on the porch swing. Around mid afternoon Ruthie was at Wal-Mart, Logan was across town doing a large lawn job and JR was inside creating yet another art masterpiece.

I heard the sound of a kicker box thumping coming towards me. It was an old beat up light gray Honda Civic occupied by four young people from south of the border. They crept up the street at 5mph. I thought it odd.

20 minutes later they came back crawling at the same speed. My spidey sense went off. I believe they were casing the neighborhood for open garage doors, porch packages or other targets of opportunity.

I went inside and grabbed my little pocket companion, my LCP.

30 minutes later they came back. I didn't brandish but I stood up and glared at them. They sped up and took off.

Today, an hour hour after I assumed my porch station and they came back. I called the police and related my experience with a description of the car and occupants.

They thanked me for my concern and said they would notify and give the description to all their patrol officers to have them identify themselves and see what they are up to.

I got a call a little while ago from the police. They spotted them, pulled them over and asked for ID. Surprise, surprise they were here illegally.

ICE, ICE baby!

Sounds like your sheriff doesn't mess around...

Good for him.

Richard Jones is a treasure and well liked here. He is often in national news for his hard stance on crime.

Look up his "warden burger" he feeds three times a day to those that earn 30 days in solitare.

Your patience is greater than mine. I would have called the cops at the first return.

You don't carry your LCP all the time? I do, at home and out.

The only time the LCP is not in my pocket is in New Mexico. On long road trips I CC something bigger, but NM does not allow BUGs or New York reloads.

I have to say that I really enjoy my neighborhood. It's all 40 year old houses owned by working class people, and most of my neighbors are 50 and 60 year-old cholos. The abuelos sit on their front porches, sipping iced tea, wearing slacks with knife-edge creases and shoes that are shined so well that you can see your reflection from across the street......and they do not put up with any flack from the younger generation or (and this surprises some people) from the illegals. I've been to more quinceañeras than football games, and it is honestly the quietest and most polite neighborhood I've ever lived in. The mob likes to have it quiet at home LOL.

You believed your racist guess without any evidence. None.
Back to the old adage, "if it walks like a duck...". Rusty did not shoot at the car. He only called law enforcement to express his suspicions, and good for him. The Cheetos pants, however, were a little extreme. The neighborhood cruisers probably suffered from PTSD.
