I would like to issue a challange. Go to your safe and pull out the gun that that has been sitting there the longest time since it has been shot and take it out and shoot it. I plan on doing this myself ASAP. Once you have done this report back what it was and how well it shot. It would also be interesting to hear how long it had been since you had shot it. There are guns in mine that haven't been shot in years. There is a P38 in there somewhere...

I believe there are around 33-34 guns in my safe and about 16 of them I've never shot.
Of those 16, there are probably 4 or 5 that I never will shoot. (Too old and valuable). As for the others, someday I may get around to them, maybe not. I have others to shoot that I know will outperform them, so why bother?

Did I mention I'm a collector?

WOW MAN! I just did that today. Berreta 92. been a couple years or more. Reminded of how much fun it can be. It just points well for me. I still like my old 459 and 3913 better. I am dragging out an HK tactical 45 ACP next weekend. Been a couple years for it as well.

Since I bought my PC 945 and my 41 thats all I want to shoot.

I did that a few years ago. In 1972, I bought a 39-2, and couldn't shoot it worth beans. In 2005, I decided to try it again. Amazing what changes in 33 years. Everything else in the safe gets a fairly frequent work-out, usually at least once every 2 or 3 years.

I did that a couple of weeks ago with a 19-7. I always shoot the .38 specials and the 19 just got ignored. I was reading one of the posts about the 19 and thought I should go shoot it some. What a great revolver. From here on out it is going to get shot. I even had a local holster maker make a really nice pigskin lined holster for it.

Not gonna do it. I have a shotgun that used to be my mom's that I am only keeping to sell at a gun "buyback" It is a mossberg or stevens bolt action .410 with a bulged barrel and missing the magazine tube insert. There a few pristine older guns that don't make much sense to shoot since I have shooter grade guns of the same type.

I dug through the safe last weekend and took out a shotgun that I hadn't shot in eight years. But I didn't take it out to shoot it. I took it to the local pusher and traded it for a Winchester 94, a war years production with the flat-band. I'm planning on shooting this one a lot, so I'm happy with the trade.
