Walked into Carolina Sporting Arms today and walked out with a pristine Model 10-7 with standard contour barrel (1979) and a Winchester Model 1200 riot shotgun (1989). It was an accident. I did not mean to buy anything. Only planned to look. All I can do now is learn from this mistake and post pictures on the internet as a lesson to others.

The Winchester 1200 is just fun. Short barrel, wood furniture, everything else in good condition and a ridiculous low price. Halfway through completing the 4473, a friend who works at CSA handed me the Model 10. "Did you see this?" Nope. Missed it. It was on the display case top shelf but obscured by some stuff. It's flawless. No box. I have very few of the "pencil barrels" but like them a lot.

The Model 10 looks good with this standard barrel 36, also from CSA.

I picked up a 10-7 6" pencil barrel a few years back for a real good price. When I got it on a range it ended up being some of the best revolver shooting I have ever done. Used some 38 I loaded up 35 years before . 148 gr LSW over WW231, CCI primers. Not +P just standard velocity.

Already had the model 10 with the heavy barrel, and recently snagged not one but two Remington riot guns one with 18" barrel and the other with the 22" barrel. Hard to choose between the two shotguns so I bought em both. Frank

That would have been hot stuff 70 years ago and is still VERY effective if you know what you are doing with them. (Personally I prefer the 870 but I am not knocking the 1200.)

CONGRATS

Keep a close eye on the screws and pins on the 1200 before using it and after. Saw five of them go down on a Military Police qual course in one morning. I too, prefer the 870. We used my personal 870 to finish the course (something like 3000 rounds of 00 Buck without a hiccup). I have a Model 12 for a truck gun with an 18" barrel, that is a great gun. Enjoy yours.

Ha,did same at police supply shop ,model 10-7 HB and Mossberg 590 standard. Whats old is new and effective today as yesterday. Like the Mossberg for reliability over the 870 or 1200-1300.
