Hi everybody

When i clean i always have some attention (clean + drop of oil) for the hammer.

How is possible to clean and lubricate hammer in dao revolver such as 642?

Thanks a lot.

PS
I'm talking about "hidden" hammer like the 642 and not "cutted but still exposed" hammer like the 638.

What I do is hold the gun upside down and apply a drop of lube from a needle applicator to each side of the trigger and let it get drawn into the gun. Then I cycle the action a few times to spread the oil around.

Alternatively, you could remove the grips and use a needle applicator to apply lube through the mainspring frame opening, or possibly through the opening for the hand in the frame.

Fortunately, revolvers don't require a lot of lube and the closed-up frame makes it a bit harder for dirt to get in there. Maybe every couple of years or so I'll open up the side plate to make sure everything is good and apply small amounts of lube directly at the time.

I would measure the gap between the side plate and hammer and trigger. Measure it for shims. I'd shim it and lube it at the sametime. One shot tuning and jiffy lube with moly.

Thanks but i didnt understand whre exactly put the oil drop.
Where i draw the red arrow ?
