J-Frame Recommendations/Comments

I have carried a bodyguard for forty-three years as a BUG/OD and now as a CCW. I have a 442, 642 and 640, all are fine guns, however, the bodyguard will always be my only BUG/OD/CCW. Some forum members think the are ugly, I would diagree, a bodyguard is a thing of beauty and grace and should be cherished as a fine wine or beautiful woman. One must also keep in mind that it's bite is very deadly.

I also have to agree with cjtraining on this one to.

i too have a 642 with the "dreaded hole". it is a fine and trustworthy companion.

Thanks to all for the informative, thoughtful, and generous comments and suggestions. Although I'm very much in the group that looks at this particular weapon as a tool, this is going to take a little more thought on my part to come to a final decision.

All things considered, however, it's looking like a no-lock 442 is taking the lead in my deliberations since it's light, durable, and lock-free. This weapon will be carried in the Texas heat and humidity, so a 642 isn't out of the question, either.

Thanks again and stay safe. I'll post a picture when I get my J-frame and holster.

The snub and holster should look a bit like this.......
