I recently found this gun on one of the auctions sites and with Jim retiring, I figured I better buy it. It is a 27-2 that Jim converted to 44 Special and it has a smooth trigger, CC hammer and a 5" barrel. The seller said that he bought it here off this forum several years ago so I am hoping someone will recognize it and fill in a little more of its history.

Nice gun! Jim did two 1911s for me in the early eighties. Unfortunately, I no longer have either.

I'm going to assume that it is the original barrel, rebored, because of the lack of a caliber marking. Then again, I could be wrong.
