Fitting that he passed on a Sunday.
He practiced his Christianity in good conscience to his best ability.
May he rest in peace.

I have said it elsewhere, he was easily the best man to ever hold that office.

Very well respected, and great works after he left the Presidency. Well educated, was a nuclear engineer and captained an atomic submarine while in the Navy.
This is true, however he served in a variety of billets, including engineer officer of diesel submarines and qualified to command submarines. When father passed away, he left the navy to run the family business. Nevertheless, he did at least serve in his country's military, something many politicians chose not to do.He was affiliated with the Navy Nuclear Power Program early on, but never completed training and never served aboard a nuke sub and certainly never commanded one.
With all due respect, this isn't the time for that.
Most people will remember him for his work with Habitat for Humanity.
Jimmy Carter publicly supported a ban on "assault weapons" and universal background checks of all gun purchases.
