Jockstrap Holsters Are My Favorite Style

Please forgive my SLACKNESS! I said I would try again to find out what gun fits my fancy Myres Model 445 Floral Carved and Laced holster, and forgot all about it. To recap, when I got it, I was hoping that it would fit my Nickel 3.5" barreled Model 27-2, but it was too small. I didn't own any shorter barreled K frames at the time.

So today, I was feeling a little like Cinderella or Goldilocks! I dug out the holster and tried my 2" Pre-10 because I found it first. I knew right away that it was going to be too short, but thought it would tell me if a K frame would be correct. It did. I next got out my Minty S&W 19-3 Texas Ranger's Edition with a 4" barrel. I very, very carefully tried to put it in my holster and it was "just right". It is a PERFECT fit, and looks great! The only thing that would make it better is if Richard (Rkmesa) was to send me one of his superb ENGRAVED Texas Ranger 19-3's. Then it would look awesome!

It's unusual to find a dated holster like this one, with a matching belt and cartridge slide as well.

Nice one! What type of leather was used for the lining on this one? Is it pig?

Bruce, if I am looking correctly, that holster should be for a ".22/32 Kit Gun with a 4 inch barrel". Is that what you think too?

That sounds about right, just a smidge too small for a 4" K frame.

Wow, that is COOL! I don't believe I've ever seen a half flap jock strap holster. I wish it was a floral carved model. Thanks for sharing, Lee.

While going through the stacks getting ready for the SWCA Symposium ( 2 1/2 weeks from now in Phoenix ) I ran across this Myres holster for a medium auto. It has the Myres logo stamped on the bottom rear of the holster.

Here's one for an N frame by an unknown maker. Nice quality, good heavy leather. Probably Mexican.

Bruce, that is a really cool Jockstrap holster, and it does appear to be extremely well made. Being lined and having the nice floral carving, whoever made it was talented. I would guess sewing it, especially with the lining, would be difficult without a machine.
