Picked up this LNIB junk Glock wannabe:

Made by the krauts. Other than the comfortable grips, high machining quality, excellent sights, and superb ergos, I can’t recommend it.

Also shoots the 9mm minimeter Europellet that we all know has 0
Stopping Power.



Lol just kidding team. This is a fine Walther P99AS that I’m proud to own. Snagged it for a fantastic price at the LGS. Love it!

I have a S&W sw99, the junk P99 wannabe to your junk Glock wannabe. I’ve had it for over 20 years and it’s a great pistol.

But mine is in .40, for superior stopping power. The Ameripellet.

I have a Walther also . It's very very accurate , nice trigger and feeds anything . Mine is a " little different " from those pictured above . I have a nice condition P38/P01 . It's the post war version " P01" . Yes I know it only holds 8 rounds in the magazine , but it's so accurate don't need more .

Was recently out at the Base BX looking at the Handguns.
I see an unknown Pistol lined up with the Glocks.
Ask the Clerk, what that?
He replied It’s a Glock Clone made by a Glock Subsidiary.
Uses Glock Magazines.
I can’t recall the name.
Didn’t know Glock Cloning was so prevalent that Glock is doing it!

I don’t know about the P99 but I have the PPQ and it is amazing.

I have the poor man’s PPQ. the Walther CREED. bought it new under $300. Reliable accurate and it’s a Walther. Don’t understand why it wasn’t a success.

A Glock sanctioned Glock clone? Palmetto State Armory are part of Glock? I don't think so.

Sounds like the clerk is about as smart as the one I spoke to in Texas a few days ago. I asked to look at a milsurp marked "Mauser 1938", a description often given to those Turk long rifles that filled barrels decades back. He pulls it down and says, "Yeah, Czech model 1938". Yes, it's Czech, but it's got a clear "E Lion 23" mark on the receiver, so it was built in 1923. Manager told me this guy was the store's milsurp expert.

Ok, a word of caution. If you are really that smitten with the Walther P99 design, don't start reading up on it. You will read about different trigger systems, calibers, compact versions, generations , and finding yourself hopelessly addicted.

Sadly, no danger of a deal. Mismatched bolt, mismatched rear sight, and a $495 price tag.

They can't be all bad. S&W actually made their own version of the Walther P99, once upon a time.

Yup. I ended up with a 1932 5 inch heavy duty from one of them guys. 90% gun, 4 bills otd. I even told him what it was and he didn't care. It ended up in a forum members collection...

A few years ago, the school I worked for decided to arm their administrators. I was put in charge of finding an ambidextrous pistol that all members could use. This is the one I wanted. Unfortunately, Walther was moving away from the paddle style mag release, and I couldn't find any on the market. Eventually, I recommended the HK VP9SK, which the school adopted. But I really wanted to find the Walther.

It was a truly iconic design which has a number of copies and derivatives such as the Canik TP9, Fabryka Broni Radom P99 RAD, Magnum Research MR Eagle, Smith & Wesson SW99, and even the modern M&P Series.
