Just a liitle warning

Whew! I'm glad you're OK. Here's my simple three-step solution for your problem:

1. Get a La-Z-Boy. (However, since you're a member of the Forum, you probably have at least one already.)

2. Get a laptop computer.

3. Sit in La-Z-Boy while using your laptop. Sleep or not. If you're worried about your laptop sliding off onto the floor while you snooze, get a laptop case. However, laptops are pretty durable.

Graydon,
They turn over too! Don't ask me how I know this.[/SIZE] ;) :D

That reminds me...I've been meaning to fix this! :D:D:D

Glad you weren't seriously injured. I have fallen asleep in my computer chair several times, but it has arms, so I managed not to fall out. I did lean back and turn it over backward once, though. I think it was a different chair from the one I have now, though. This one is pretty stable.

Glad you're pretty much ok, ancient-one. It takes a fair amount of courage to mention to THIS GROUP that you fell out of a chair. Still, it's a good lesson for all of us and I appreciate you telling us what happened. You shouldn't feel embarrassed. I managed to hit myself in the head with a hammer; a claw hammer. Ouch. Scalp wounds bleed!

OK, since you asked:

I was doing some work on the gutters. Using a step ladder. Had to go up and down moving my tools each time. Brainy me, I figured if... I.... was.... careful..... I could gently pick up the step ladder with tools on top and carefully move it to the next position.

BONK! The acceleration of gravity propelled that dang thing into my noggin. I bled like stuck pig. Evidently claw hammers fall claw first. I did not know that.

You'll be on the mend. You arm will heal, but I have a hunch your daughter isn't going to let up!

Glad you weren't more seriously injured, Graydon. Here are some ideas off Amazon for you:

Slide this under your easy chair:

I use this for when I need to fill out forms or otherwise handwrite while sitting in my chair:

My son has lower back issues and finds sitting in most chairs painful. After doing some research, I got him this as a Christmas present:
