Some of you may remember that my father passed away last month. The last 4 years or so have been difficult, to say the least. The latest issue is that even though he died on 6/18, the death certificates weren't signed until last Sunday. I had arranged for them to call me when the certificates were done and I would pick up them and the cremains together. I got a call this morning offering to deliver them to me. Great! I don't have to make a special trip. Young girl shows up at the door, we do the paperwork, and she goes on her way. I study the death certificates and they are fine. Then I go to put my father's ashes with the rest of the family. What's this? These aren't my father's cremains. They're someone else. Got a call in to the funeral home and told them of the mixup. Saw where the other guy was supposed to go and called them to let them know to check to make sure they didn't get my dad's cremains. Now I'm sitting here waiting to see how they're gonna fix it.

Sorry to hear this Phil.

Hopefully his remains stayed at the funeral home. I would look up the name on the urn to be sure he was not to be buried soon. Sure the family would want to be informed.

Well, poor Mr. Bickford was to be delivered to a cemetery where he was to be put in a niche. I called them and let them know I have his cremains and if they get a delivery to check that they got the right guy. Right now he's watching youtube with me while we wait for the situation to be resolved. I hope he liked military history.

Never miss an opportunity to make new friends. :D

I wonder if your dad would have a laugh and is watching with Mr Bickford.

I’m glad it’s resolved! When my dad passed away from Alzheimer’s we buried him in the local cemetery. His biggest concern that last year was that he did not want those darn geese pooping on his grave [emoji4]

Well, now that I have the whole family's cremains, I can finally spread them at the coast. I told my mom I'd spread her at her favorite beach. Since the others didn't say where they wanted to go, I'll put them all together. 4 people and a small dog. I'm gonna need a bigger backpack.
