Just looking for a straght forward review and opinion

You shoukd always take +p+ rounds with you to the range, they are fun to shoot, make alto of noise and Glocks can't fire them because the gun will explode.
Nice story, these dopes don't know what their missing.

I had one for a couple of years, bought it used for $210 OTD and ended up getting $225 trade value towards a G21.
The trigger was pretty heavy but made me a better shooter.
I never had the least trouble with mine (9VE).
For the money it's a steal. Just let folks keep talking smack about them-it keeps the price down.:)

My sentiments exactly!!:D

I had one in .40. I loved the way it felt and shot...But, it wasnt too reliable. It broke an extractor at 3000 rounds, a striker at 4500, and another extractor at 6000.... I got rid of it and got an XD. that being said, I may get another sigma to keep in the car. I think they are pretty good for the money. Just not up to shooting as much as I do

Ok I just bought a sigma 9mm for 300 at the gun shop i live by. I love the gun i really do. but when i was at the gun range waiting in line for a pistol lane to open up. this guy told me how bad the sigmas are and how they love to fail....Well i shot 200rds of 9mm pmc with no problems. just wondering why this gun gets so much bad flack. i liked it alot and i just hope it still works 6 months from now? it was a valentines day present by the way i got the wife a rugar lcp

What do you consider "reliable"? I've got over 9,000 rounds through one of my Sigma's with only 3 total malfunctions that I attribute to a batch of handloaded ammo (all three happened within a span of 2 mags), and I've got over 3,000 rounds through my other Sigma with ZERO malfunctions. Both are still sporting stock recoil springs and guide rods, both still using original extractors, both still using original mags and mag springs, both still wearing the original slide-stop levers; and I've shot dozens of different brands/weights/projectile types of ammo out of these things without missing a beat.

I'm not sure how you can improve on that kind of reliability.

That was one of the earlier ones the sw40f most likely. I have 20K+ through mine with not one failure its a great gun and very reliable. I am getting 9mm soon and crossing into the dark side. I got a barrel for a glock that had a supported chamber today for free so I think I am getting a G17 Gen 2.
I like the .40ve and its still going to be my side arm when hunting and my HD nightstand gun. its just the .40 bullets are getting too pricy. the 9mm is 1/2 the price

What???? Vector's going to buy a Glock??? I'm getting dizzy!! I thought you hated Glocks! Talking about free, I was given a new Hi-point .380 for free. I haven't shot it yet. It's an unusual pistol but I am grateful for the gift and I understand that while they are quite different, they fire faithfully.

Before you fire the Hi-Point, polish the feed ramp. I have the 9mm version of that gun and love it. If you don't polish the feed ranp you will have some problems with the last round in that mag. The mag springs are very tough as well so you need to keep them compacted for about a week before you use them. If you ever loose a part or something breaks, you just call them up and tell them you need a part. They don't ask for you serial # of anything. They just need your name and address. They have the best warranty out there. If your gun does not work for any reaso they will send you the part to make it right.
As far as the Glock thing goes, I did not hate Glocks as a whole. I did not like the fact that you could not fire any kind of ammo out of them. I also hated the arrogant "glock owner" attitude, as I still do. When I was looking at them in the gun shop, I had one as a sales guy. I was asking him different questions about the Glock and some other, Better guns, like the CZ, Sig, HL etc and he always had some answer that the Glock was so much better. I asked him if he had ever seen or fired any of these other guns and he said, "no". I wnet to another sales guy that did not really like Glocks either. I was asking questions to him and he gave me honest answers. I was going to get the M&P. When I took it onto the range, I put a full mag into the gun and the slide closed automaticlly. If I had my finger on the trigger this would have been a major problem for the guy in the next lane. I also did not like the very suttle reset on the M&P. Also the disassembly was a little more complicated. I aslo looked at the XD 9, The trigger reset is amlost as far forward as my sigma. and it was a *** to take apart, you need a whole set of tools. The Glocks, I have used before. I did get that free after market barrel so I can fire the other, hi powered round from it. The trigger pull is short and the reset is really short. I bought it from a store localy that matches any other price + $5. So I got a really good deal. When I pick up the gun next week, I could seel it right back to the shop and make $100 profit and that in including what I bought the gun for, tax and the DROS fees.

Glocks are one of those guns that REALLY hold their value. I also guss that is another reason why I bought it. The glock is not going to replace the other guns at all. I still want my 40ve for my families safety. The 40ve is a proven gun and that is invalueble. I would never take a gun and just use it for protection without putting a heck of alot of rounds through it and doing everything in my power to get the gun to fail. I need to put a few hundren boxes of crappy ammo down range before I will make a statement on how it works.

Ok here's my 2 cents worth...Been shooting handguns for 40 of my 51 yrs. Colts, kimbers, glocks,HK's,sigs, rugers, and of coarse,S&W's. IPSC,GSSF,and now with my department as well as at home on my farm for the pure enjoyment. I've owned now and or in the past, all of the above brands listed. I have an SW40VE and a SW9VE. Great ergonomics and balance, super reliable and combat accurate. (That's off hand fist sized groups @ 20 yds. no problem.) I carry either one of these for CCW. It's not a bullseye pistol,it's not pretty, but it's all business. And yes,I like it better than the glocks I've owned because it feels better to me,comes back on target for rapid 2nd shots, and is ultra reliable. The above mentioned guns are great,so are my sigmas, but you know that some blowhards out there like to insert their foot into their mouth and talk trash about something they don't own. I love putting them to shame on the range...Enjoy your Sigma,it's a great gun and value!!

I'm considering purchasing another Sigma in 40 S&W...the last one I owned ..a buddy of mine purchased from me....after he borrowed it tho qualify for a gun carry permit ...I now am looking for a 40 S&W Semi....because I traded my Sig Pro off (never could warm up to it)

I first considered purchasing a 40 S&W conversion barrel for my G20..but for a little more i can get a Sigma...and have a nice carry gun..
I'm most likely going to order one in next few days....unless i run across a great used one at a decent price...most LGS can't keep Sigma's in and the used ones are gone ultra fast....
New ones run at 300.00 in these parts

Yup, for such a "crappy gun that does not work" they sure have a habit of dissappearing fast. Maybe its the "Glock Owners" trying to save the world from trying to use an inferior gun. OR maybe its not a *** and there are people that are buying the gun in secret and stock piling them for 12/21/2012. I think its a consperacy. Mine is loade and holstered on the side of my bed right next to my 12 ga. incase somebody wants to get some bAlLs and try to steal it. I'll use my newly aquired Glock to get'em, no one is touching my Sigma 40ve.

I have people tell me it's a crappy gun and I tell them, "when your jamms in a gun fight, mine won't, i'll be keeping my crappy life and my crappy gun and take yours as well, you won't be needing it".
