Just ordered a new Performance Center 8 shot 327 2" Scandium .357mag Revolver. I love the looks of this gun. Watched many videos online about it but never held it in person. Its more of a custom order no local gun shops had any in stock. Seems like a great Revolver. Super lightweight and compact but big enough to hold 8 rounds. Anybody have any experience with this gun? If so what the best way to keep it clean being that its made from scandium and titanium? I noticed a lot of owners of this gun in online pics have the black burn marks all over the cylinder. So im just guessing its hard to clean?

I think this deserves a photo. EDIT: wow, that weighs less than a 640.

Groo here
There are special cleaning requirements [see manual] due to the
Ti cylinder and it's coating.
I would say that most don't use any brushes [ brass or ss] or
polish on the cylinder to protect the coating.
I for one don't worry about any burn marks,
If the liquid cleaner or oil rag can't remove it.

Have had mine for 3 months been to the range 4 times with it 158 gr. bullet, clean Barrel w/ hopes #9 and brass rod, Use foam cleaner with plastic cleaning rod for the cyl.wipe it down with rem oil so far so good ,I did use lead bullet 25 rounds ,Leaded barrel bad , Have a lobo Holster and cc with large shirts works good , also changed grip to a Hogue Bantam, less print.

-Looks like a nice carry gun, double the price of a 640 though, but 60% more firepower. I like it. I was not aware of that model before. Another firearm on the wish list.

First time I've heard an N frame called "compact". :D

The burn marks are something you just live with.

I was in the same position as you, wanted one, but had never handled one. I saw one in a LGS, picked it up, and bought it.

I'm sure you will love it,. I only shoot .357's in mine, to keep from getting a crud ring in the cylinders, knowing it will be hard to clean it.

The original grips are really nice, but a little too big for the snub nose IMHO. With them on the gun is taller than it is long, looks out of proportion, to me. Plus they are harder to conceal.

I tried pachmayr grips on mine, felt good but too grippy on my cover shirt.

Then Altamonts, because I like them on J frames. I found my grip was too high on the Nframe, so I tried a Tyler T. It was better, but not great.

Then I settled on a set I found on eBay, that are perfect on the snub, the originals from the snub are now on my 627.

Look how nice it fits in a Don Hume holster.

Well it came in today which was actually a surprise since the dealer said most likey Monday or Tuesday. Actually they called last night and said it was in. After picking it up i took it gome and cleaned ut up to remove the factory shipping oil. I must say this is a super nice .357!! Its so light. I agree with the above post that the grip is too long for a perfect conceal. With that said the grip feels perfect in my hand and looks amazing. It would be a hard decision to take it off to put a smaller one on even tho it would be more practical. It is slightly larger then i thought it would be but i had a feeling it would be since it packs 8 rounds. I had a pocket holster for my Ruger sp101 357 that i traded in on it and it is too big for that holster. Its lighter then my old sp101 by about 5 ounces or so..its definitely going to be an on the hip carry CCW or in my Motorcycle vest gun pocket. . Cant wait to shoot it. Gonna get some heavy bear rounds for it for when im outside just incase. Was just charged by a black bear last night sitting by my fire. I knew he was there sneaking around too. Listen to him for 30 minutes before he came crashing out of the bush. I dont want to shoot him i actually like him even tho he tears my garbage up every week. But i want to be protected just incase he dont let up next time.. it will be a good sitting by the camp fire gun..

I know it's an old, old thread, but I just had to mention that they make fireplaces for indoors now...just sayin'.
