Figured now was the time to pick up my first Ar since the prices are crazy good right now! After researching Youtube, this forum and others, I picked the Sport II because of all of the excellent reviews it had and it fit perfectly in with my budget of $500. I already have my Magpul furniture on the way for it. Will add a red dot down the road. Can't wait to get it!! :D

Be careful--The affliction can drive up the cost of your fun. Mine turned into a 12 pounder that I lug to the blind for hog. I do have other site options now though. Red dot, 3-9 glass and laser. The laser stays mounted all the time for close-range hogs.

Forgot to mention: The scope in the picture is my day/night scope for hog. The light on the front is the IR illuminator.

My sport II is extremely fun to shoot, very accurate. Though I did put in a smoother mil-spec trigger and a 1-6 bdt scope.

I have one and it works great and comes with a good warranty.

Feels like Christmas, doesn't it? Did you choose a red-dot yet?

It sure does!!:D Actually I just went with an A3 Tactical red dot. It should be perfect for my needs. I came close to buying a Vortex Strikefire II but just didn't think I would get enough usage out of it to justify the cost.

I was very pleased when I found out how well my Sport shoots. Totally reliable so far and very accurate. I was able to shoot 6" groups at 200 yards from a standing position with no rest of any kind. I never dreamed it would be that accurate. I put the Strikefire II on mine but now I would almost certainly have gone with a Primary Arms Advanced which has the 50,000 hour battery life and is a very well made sight for about the same price as the Vortex. I actually just bought one for $70. The company got the mount screws wrong and other mounts won't work. So they sold them as defects for a greatly reduced price. I have a PA on my second AR and it works great. I don't even have a rifle picked out to mount the new one. I just couldn't pass up the deal. Apparently all the reduced price models have been sold but it seemed that way once already and they started selling them again.
