Picked up in a local pawn shop a S&W 469 in nickel, with 3 mags.
Asking $275 I traded a Rossi 3" .38 special w/ holster for the gun. Think I came out on the right end of the deal. Has a few scratches & needs rear sight replaced ( which I have.

Thanks Mike

I think you did alright on that deal as you did get a better gun for your trade in value. With the sight fixed you should have many years of good shooting with the new one.

Why is that the pawn shops around me only seem to feature Hi-Points, Kel-Tec and Taurus!? I choose to believe that around her people truly appreciate a 1st-3rd Gen S&W auto, but maybe I am just not stopping in often enough. Congrats on the find.

I also from this same shop about a year ago swapped a Rossi .32 revolver in a presentation box for a S&W 6946

A 462 was the first pistol I ever owned, I got it brand-new at a gunshow in '85 just after getting out of the suck.....er,um, I mean The Marine Corps :D
Though it was a fine pistol, I traded it in on a P226 a year later, but always held a soft spot for them. (I only paid $250 for it, and even got the seller to toss in a box of ammo. When I offered it in trade for the Sig, that guy apologetically said he could only give me $275, towards the $550 P226 !!)
I saw one at a small, local gun/pawn store a year and a half ago, and they wanted around $375,IIRC. Oddly, they also had a pristine 4506-1 that a buddy of mine snagged, for only $430-ish. Go figure.
I eventually scratched that 462 itch by scoring me a clean 6906 on Armslist a couple years ago.
(By the way, I concur, the OP scored big getting the 462 for a friggin' Rossi .38 LOL!!!!)
