This book is about Washington's Culper spy ring. I wasn't interested in it because it was written by FOX host Brian Kilmead who is mostly a sports guy. I like the him on TV but figured a history book by a non historian wouldn't work, but $4 used for a recent $27 book was worth a chance. Man, was I wrong. He, with his co-writer put a fantastic book together here. It's packed with obscure facts and the writing just flows, forcing you to just keep reading. I never finished a book so fast without even realizing it. It's really a tribute to unsung heroes of the Revolutionary War, one of which is a woman still not known to historians.

I thought it was a good read too. The pressure must have been insane because people kept dropping in and out of the ring.

I just read an old (about 10 years old) book I picked up cheap titled "The Last Playboy," the biography of Porfirio Rubirosa the most famous playboy/gigolo of the mid-20th century. He certainly lived an interesting life. Were it ever made into a movie, no one would believe it.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it.I tried couple, three times to read it and although interesting at times I never made it past about halfway. Maybe should try again.

I thought it passable, yet not written with a good historian's writing. I got it as a gift. I wouldn't have bought it myself. I'd give it a 5 or 6.

I haven't read the book but I just got done watching season 1 of the AMC show Turn on Netflix which is base on the same thing. They base the show on Alexander Roe's book Washington's Spies: The Story of America's First Spy Ring. Quite often the book is better than the show or movie. But I found the show definitely worth watching.
