My 1948 K-32 (s/n 2244) has previously been written up on this forum. I have a K-32 Masterpiece gold box for a 6" gun that I was able to purchase. My K-32 absolutely does not fit the box! Why? Am I overlooking something real obvious? The box does not have a serial number on it.

So a plain Jane K-32 with the correct Magna's would allow it to fit (should've known that) but that probably isn't going to happen since it was decked out by Mr. Warner in "the rare stocks" Lee linked to. I'll probably keep the box - it has the helpful hints, cleaning tools, and I have a period screwdriver I can add.

Calling that gun a plain Jane K-32 is like calling a 29-1 or a factory nickel Highway Patrolman plain Jane. BTW, if you ever want to get rid of the box give me a shout.

The metal box corner reinforcements are longer/taller with Target stock fitted guns. This box has “four hole” corners but I don’t remember if Target boxes have five or six.

N frame boxes were what was used to ship some target equipped K frames were 5 rivets high. I believe the stocks on the OP's gun might be even thicker or wider at the base??

I enlarged the image of the stocks for those who could not see the details of the spacer.

The other caliber Masterpiece revolvers with the later stocks still were way too large for the gold boxes.
