K Frame for CCW

On the S&W forum......old threads never die.!!!!

Lucky enough to have bought some 3" 66s back in the late 80s and find another 3" 66-4 around the turn of the Century... add a Sparks Summer Special for around town or a Bianchi 111 crossdraw for the mountains... w/ 1 or 2 Safariland II speedloaders in split-6 carriers..... and I'm good to go.

I carry my 7 shot 4" 357 AIWB a lot. UPDATE: This post was in 2016. I haven’t carried the 627 lately but I do carry its 2” brother a 617 once in a while.

Most guys know I am a revolver fan, I own semi-autos and I shoot them and may carry one CCW but I like the feel of a revolver. My small CCW will be a 642 w/o lock. However since I have afew K frames I may decide to carry one now and again, probably a 19, 66 or model 15. Though I did see a gentalman on Sunday who was carrying a 6 inch K frame in a cross draw holster. N Frames are to big for me to carry. But I do like my model 19 2.5 and feel comfortable with it.

I have a 3 inch model 13 I like too but I will have to order a holster for it.
I carry a 3 inch 13 everyday. Comfortable and hides well

My RB M10 4" gun conceals nicely in a Wild Bill's Fusion paddle holster when wearing a suit. A Galco 2x2x2 ammo pouch completes the rig. When wearing a tux, I break out the old Bianchi #6 suede clip on holster and throw a speed strip or two in my strong side pocket.

I carried a 3 inch M65 in plain clothes carry for several years.

I carry one of my (two) 3" model 64-3's pretty regularly. Not all the time, because the two j-frames I have are more comfortable for carry - but fairly often.

Actually, I've threatened to get rid of the j-frames and just use the 64's for carry on many occasions, but I just haven't been able to force myself to do it. Yet.
