The wife and I were in K-Mart today. We were picking up a nice picture frame as a gift from the jewelry counter. The frame cost less than $50, but what got me was, the girl had to escort us up front with it. A picture frame? I have heard of some good ones before but not this. I guess it was so I didn't go crazy with the glass from the frame or something.

No sense blaming it on K-Mart. Its a problem with our society. Though I'm sure you are not the problem, too many of our young people have grown up without really knowing that words like trust, honor, duty, and dignity have meaning.

I've not stepped foot in a K-Mart since they first used Rosie as their mouth piece, but you can't blame them for putting procedures in place to minimize the loss of inventory from walking out the front door.

One of our local big-name pharmacies recently added a line of office supplies and I noticed they had the printer cartridge that I use.

Since I rarely have a spare, I decided to pick one up. The ink cartridges are "locked" onto the rack, in addition to a security tag that must also be removed. Store clerk had to unlock one for me and then escort me to the register.

One the way to the register, I smiled and asked; "You've gotta be kidding me, right?" Her response was that with many of these cartridges selling in the $50 range, that theft is rampant.

Amazing.

K-mart is still in business?

After I tore into them with e-mails regarding their "No Ammo" policy several years back, they wrote back and said that it was new company policy. It's our decision and we could care less if you shop somewhere else, yes that's what the e-mail said.
About two months later they were closing stores and pouting about the loss of business.

No K-mart near me and that's just fine.

Not "K-mart" but "joes" formerly G.I.Joes .A local 'sports/outdoor' store.

I got a box of ammo at the gun counter. They didn't escort me to the cashier, but they did lock the box of ammo into a clear plastic box apx 1'x6".(which I thought was sillier)

I asked the gun counter guy, "if your worried about me stealing it, why can't I just pay you here?" Answer: (I swear) "Just routine sir" they'll unlock it at the register.

"Joe's" is now in bankrupcy. I wonder if stupidity like that played a part?
