Found this girl hanging out in a dusty corner of my LGS.

K22 with King red post front sight on a mirrored sight base....

Had goodyears on it so these relieved targets will have to do until I find a special set of stocks for her...

Also, the cylinder stop is highly polished....I've seen some other King modified guns with polished or jeweled internal parts. I might have to pop the side plate and take a look....what do you guys think about the polished cylinder stop?

Mike,
Very nice find! I need to get in good with a certain LGS so these gems start coming my way........
Couple questions.......
Cylinder stop? Is it that tit that causes the turn line? Does those get polished to lessen the turn line?

How'd you get the finish so nice? It has a nice "glossy battleship gray" tint.....for lack of better words. I have used Ren wax on a couple of my early post war Masterpieces and the finish........ Not as nice as yours. It's not a lack of blueing, pits, surface rust ect ect...... The guns I have polished are like 95%-98%guns.....

Thanks Mike
Bob

Bob...

I use flitz on every gun I get. Only one 'round' of it though...then as many rounds of Ren Wax as my heart desires! Lol!

I think the one round of flitz acts as a surface cleaner and gives it a little bit of a polish. Gets rid if the years of oil and crud that builds up.

I'm not sure about the polished cylinder stop. First time I've seen one. Yes, it's the little tit that makes the drag line...

Hope that helps, Bob...

Nice pickup Mike! On the polished stop, I do that to most all of my guns to lessen the turn line in the future. Probably not to that extent, but I do polish them and hit the edge very lightly with a stone.
