K38 Masterpiece - a little help?

I should have the gun in hand by this time next week. I sent out the USPS money order with a signed copy of my local FFL's license in priority mail to the seller. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions when I have it in hand. Such as...where does one acquire target grips for this gun and do they offer a real advantage when shooting? I like grips that fit my hand. My Encore wears custom grips and my Ruger Mark III wears aftermarket grips that I have adjusted to fit perfectly.

More pictures. Now it's mine... :) Very pleased, though I can't wait to try the target stocks on it - my hands just swallow up the magnas...

I've already put 250 rounds through the gun - you're seeing it now after a thorough cleaning and then I used Johnson's Paste Wax on the metal surfaces - which was a new technique to me, and I like it!

Ebay should have lots of K frame target stocks, although the diamond stocks are getting pricey, and not even available in 1948 if I remember correctly. Tyler t-grips fill the space behind the trigger guard nicely, and to me feel better than S & W target stocks anyway. Even the the T-Grips have become problematic to find. There are, however, many hand filling options in the aftermarket world.
O.Z.

You can get lots of S&W K-frame wooden target stocks of later vintage off eBay. However, what I use for shooting purposes exclusively on my K-38 is a Hogue rubber grip. Very cheap, often less than $20 on eBay, and far more comfortable than any wooden grip. Some are critical of their appearance, but so what? I keep my factory grips filed away to keep them looking good.

What I do.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about the Hogue grips. I do have a set of diamond target stocks on the way that are in "re-finishing condition" that I got for $25 shipped, so I'm not out much.
