Any one familiar with competitive shooting in Kansas? Specifically in the Fort Riley/Manhattan area? I will be looking to join a shooting club when I get back in the fall. I hope to be shooting my M&P .40. Any advice on upgrades? What modifications are legal in IDPA, USPSA, or any other organizations? I have been looking at the Apex Tactical kits but I don't want to do something that will disqualify me or that isn't necessary. Also, I think it warrants stating that I have no experience in competitive shooting.

Hopefully some Kansas folks will answer better than I can. I know there is a nice club in the Topeka area called Capitol City Gun Club. Then the Kansas City area has lots of clubs and active shooting sports like USPSA and IDPA....you can go to the websites of each and find the nearest clubs. I also know Hutchinson and Wichita have clubs but I've never heard of one in Manhattan/ Fort Riley but I bet there is.

Good luck!

Mill Creek Range near De Soto, Ks has it's monthly match this Saturday. It is an expanded Level 1 match with 8 stages. Cost is $50 with lunch provided. Not sure what prize table size will be. Do a search for MCPSL for more info. Hope to see you there.
