FAIR WARNING! If you southern latitude people (younz know who you are) keep sending this shot up North, you can expect the Norse cold weather gods to be vengeful this winter. Cold winds will sweep down south bringing -30's to your house, friends and neighborhoods. Your public and private water systems will freeze, car handles will crack and break off when you try to open your car doors, public schools will close, you will realize those fancy yuppie heat pumps don't work for squat, you will be forced to wear long underwear (all winter), learn to drive on ice, listen to drunken ice fishermen and will likely give up all those ufta jokes. Consider yourselves warned

No problems, last time was in Chicago in winter it was -60 with wind chill,IIRC was in 80's. Never went back in winter. Might freeze here but only day or so.
We're shooting for 104°,94° so far but it's a dry heat….

Psst... They don't usually have AC up there. You know...it never gets hot 'nuff to need it....up there. It's only 94 here.. I do have AC on.

Well up in the mountainous area I live at, as of now we have not had the AC on except to check it a couple weeks ago.. House is comfortable with windows mostly closed, shades drawn during the days and open at night. Most always there is a breeze here and that helps out greatly in keeping things comfortable.
Next step normally is to go to the large paddle fans on, just moving the air around in our post & beam house does a good job. I said normally from what the weather guessers are saying looks like the AC will be needed for at least the next 4 days.
We have been warned that their is the potential for some serious storms starting at around 5PM as the warm front arrives. We many times get some good wind that the weather people call straight line winds. (think of a tornado without the rotation!)

Cheer up, winter is coming.
In the "Blizzard of 1978", my wife's cousin was an Over the Road trucker. He was coming home in the heart of the blizzard on I-71 just south of US 30. As he came over a rise, a scene like this greeted him. At that year's Thanksgiving Feast, he was sharing what it looked like to him as he was sliding downhill and right towards a pile up! My wife walked over to him and ask if there was a Shell Oil tank truck at a certain place? A tentative Yes. Was a green truck here and a red one there? A second tentative Yes. She then had everybody in the room's attention. She had been at college, asleep in her bed and about 2:00 am God woke her up and showed her that scene. She at once started praying and after about 5 minutes all seemed well, so back to sleep she went. The cousin looked at her with tears in his eyes, "I thought I was going to die! All of the sudden, the truck straightened out, and I had traction and drove down through that tangled mess with 3 other semis following me!"
That is the worst blast from the Norse Winter gods, in Ohio's living memory! A different God had something to say about it when it affected His Own!

Even the bitcoin miners in Texas are limiting their operations to save electricity. They use enormous amounts of it. I wish I understood how bitcoins are mined.
Broke down decades ago and started buying widow air con for the OCCASIONAL mid eighty's weather. Even getting to 90 was a rare event. Last year we had 2 weeks of ninety's, and this year it's getting to mid ninety's way too regularly.
I mean, the contract says if ya suffer the very cold, you're excused from the hot. Gonna have to check my contract warranty card for specifics. If am gonna have to settle for mid ninety's in the summer, might as well go where it's warmer in the winter. Still dreaming bout WV, as i might just fit in there.

Pretty sure that was the big pile-up on I-81 last winter in Schuylkill County. That was caused by blinding snow squalls.
Supposed to be in the low 90's in my part of Penn's Woods by Wednesday.
