So for the past few years now, Kel-Tec has run some very odd ads. They usually feature a strange looking man peering directly into camera combined with some strange quote - some mention drinking urine, being a chambermaid, or calling them for a good time. In the past I ignored them but they seem to appear everywhere now. Do these ads make y'all want to buy a Kel-Tec? They sure do make me want to avoid their company like the plague!

I'm glad.....

I'm glad I haven't seen them. I suppose their advertising departments work though. You remember the ads and they make enough of an impression for you to write about them here. Madison Avenue makes millions making ads obnoxious and obtuse enough to make an impression, the more negative, the better.

Fresh out of the academy, I was given a tour of the cell block by the captain. He showed me the valve to turn on the water to flush the toilets which were a covered trough with a seat in each cell. A prisoner asked for a cup of water and the captain pointed out the sink and Styrofoam cups. He left and I filled the cup and gave it to the prisoner who promptly took a drink. To impress the rookie with how tough he was (while telling me so) he reached his arm into the toilet, scooped out a drink and drank it. So maybe that's how tough you are if you own a Kel Tec.

Just look at some of the firearms Kel-Tec has introduced; some strange guns, and some strange ads. They've produced some stinkers, but also some great, economically priced guns; like the P32 and PMR30.:)

I never saw one of their adds, but I do question their business sense. Their latest release, the P17, comes with a 16 round mag. Att $199 MSRP I would buy one immediately, but it exceeds our magazine limit by 1 round. There are other states with 15 round limits, some with 10, and more are on the way...think Virginia. I asked them if they would be offering optional mag capacities, and they will not reply. Makes no sense to me, to release a new product and intentionally limit your customer base.

Lived 50 plus years less than 30 minutes from the Cocoa plant. Never seen the ad. Have their .32 .380 and 9 all been great

I avoid Kel Tec products because of the jammomatic PF9 I owned years ago.

Their ads are extremely weird and macho. I recall the piss drinking one. Way beyond strange. "This dude is so tough he drinks his own pee when out in the field." As if the military would ever issue anything from Kel Tec and their mostly garbage lineup.

Kel Tech makes novelties. I think about the Sub 2000 every now and then, but so far have talked my self out of it. What S&W 9mm mags do the 9mm Sub 2000s use?

The RDB and RFB are novel designs that I like. The Sub 2000 is a useful tool that I really should buy.

It's funny you say that. The sub2000 is one of theirs that actually works. I have a G19 model.
I have a PMR30 also that is pretty reliable also if you run good ammo in it. I have heard some bad stories also about them not running no matter what ammo you use. I guess it is luck of the draw, which is not a good sign when you are talking guns. I have been shooting for 30+ years, and It is also the only gun I have ever experienced a out of battery discharge in also. So there is that...

My daughter has a PF9. Shoots fine although I find the trigger horrendous.
She now carries a model 60-15.
I had a Sub2000 40 Glock. Shot it once and gave it to the other daughter who really likes it.
Different stokes I guess

M&P. The Sub2k is a nice compact 9mm carbine. What it's for, I'm not really sure. Bug-out bag, I guess; which means .0001% usage for it's intended purpose. Still, it's a fun firearm, and fun is a purpose.

Granted KT ads are overly macho and weird but there are many other higher end makers who has equally bad "tactical" ads.

All that matters is that you recognize the ad and product. Works doesn't it!:D

Strange ads to be sure but I have and enjoy several of their guns. The P32 and P3at are great pocket guns. PMR30 is a literal blast. Sub2000 is a lot of fun. Have the new 33 round .22 on order but may never see it...

I own two Kel-Tec guns, a 20+ year old P-32 and a recently acquired KS7.

In both cases, I was the QA/QC manager for KT, and sent them back to the mothership for warranty repair. Both run now, and it didn't cost me anything in shipping, but one has to wonder if they could make a better profit for their stockholders if they would hire a decent QA/QC person

Goofy adds. Keltec has never made anything I'd spend my $$$ on.
