Yeah, I'm glad he wasn't shot too; I'd have prefered he be done in with a golf cub about 40 years ago!

I have heard that to those who actually knew him, he was likeable, even to those in the U.S. Senate who strongly disagreed with him. His family certainly held him in high regard. However, I never met or worked with him. I'm not in his family. I have long disagreed with his political views. His family has my sympathy in their time of grief.
His longevity as a Senator makes one question the intelligence ( or lack thereof ) of the people of Massachusetts. Never could figure out people being so dumb to elect him again, and again, and again. He was an embarassment to his family, his colleagues in the Senate, and the Americn people.
As far as I'm concerned he does not belong in Arlington.
