The Keurig works at our house. I like my coffee black and pretty strong. My wife likes hers mild and with different flavors. We each have our own K cups and we drink what we like. We have always used distilled water in ours and have had no problems. Not sure how long we've had it but it's a few years.

I guess the Keurig would be ok if you have several people with different tastes using it but my wife doesn't drink coffee so for me it's a $20 mister coffee not a $100 keurig. not to mention the cost of the little cups.

We had one, got tired of the expense. They are taking a lot of flak right now because of the amount of waste those things generate. Then they equipped them with DRM so they could insure your use of genuine Keurig pods when their patents expired. Dumb move.
Instead of going back to Mr. Coffee we got a Bunn. It has a preheat tank and makes a full pot in minutes. Just like their commercial coffee makers.

Keurigs are like that bad firearm, house, or car choice we've all made.
We will keep lying to ourselves to justify it. No matter what the cost are to keep it running.
Took us only 11 months to realize that we made a mistake in buying one. Replaced it with a Mr Coffee and haven looked back since.

We have had Keurig machines for several years now. Last fall I got so sick and tired of constantly filling the water tank. So I bought a K155 (I think) and the auto fill kit also the filter , installation kit. Its now hooked up the the cold water line has a special filter. No more bother, drop in a K cup and done, one cup or one hundred.
K-cups I buy on Amazon and directly from Dunkin Donuts. I like the Green Mountain blends and D&D. My wife like Tarbucks and other flavors. Eh, I like it black she likes it with cream or half and half with sweetener.

I've had several Keruigs. A couple have had issues and were replaced under warranty. The current one is about 4-5 years old and going strong. I always fill with water from the refrigerator that is filtered. Very important to use fridge water or bottled water per the Keruig folks. I have a different model that we keep in the motorhome. We use bottled water in it. I usually by K cups at Sams or Costco. Around .50 each. I frequently run across some off brand as cheap as .30-35. I am pretty selective about buying that stuff, however.

My water comes from limestone. Builds strong bones and clogged coffee makers. We use a French press. No moving parts, but the glass carafe doesn't agree with the granite counter top.

Just make sure you de-lime it now and then or use distilled water. My old commercial Bunn is probably 25 years old. I've had it at least 15 and it was well used when I bought it. Our hard well water will slow it down after a couple of months.

There are lots of them on Amazon. This one looks like fun if you were making coffee at the table for a few friends. I sure wouldn't use it on a daily basis though.

My wife bought me one, she also bought the little plastic cup that you can use your own brand of coffee, the coffee was so weak, it shot the water through too fast to make good coffee, I used to make a coffee and go outside and dump it and go to Cumby's and buy one. I ended up buying another B&D Brew & Go, it comes with a travel mug and makes good coffee, when my wife saw it, she said why did you buy that, then I told her how bad the Keruig was, she said why didn't I say something, I said I didn't want to hurt her feelings.
Have had a Keurig for years now with only minor problems. One thing you have to do once in a while is thoroughly clean the the water tank. Sometimes the float gets stuck and the machine thinks it's empty. Hard to fill it anyway unless you take it off. You can find good coffee to suit your taste at a fairly reasonable cost.
The Keurig should also be descaled once in a while or it starts screwing up.
Anybody that complains about the cost of the coffee for these machines just makes me laugh. Some of these same people will stop on the way to work at a Starbucks where you'll pay at least 3 bucks for a "normal" cup of coffee. I say "normal" because the Starbucks "barista" looks at you funny when you order a simple cup of coffee.

Our family has 4 Keurig Model B-31's. Never had a problem with any of them. We use the refillable cafe cups and usually Kona coffee. I have personally cut back from 5-8 cups before retiring to 1-2 a day.

I found the one we had to be problematic and maintenance intensive. I had to take it apart and clean it like a gun, using toothpicks and brushes to carefully remove crud. I also had the lingering suspicion that hot water through thin disposable plastic probably was not a good idea - chemical contamination. Shrug.

We have one of those motel room-style coffeemakers (Sunbeam, sort of like a mini-Mr. Coffee) that brews two cups at a time. The local Goodwill had a dozen or so of them for $2 each a few years ago, like new, so we bought one. Our son who is a coffee drinker at breakfast uses it, great coffee and brews quickly. No need for a Keurig.
After reading these posts I must admit that being a senior citizen when I first saw the Keurig it just screamed opulent to me. I thought, "My Gawd, what next?" Then I went to spend a weekend on my friend's boat and when I wanted coffee the Keurig was what was on board. I said, where did you get that?? He said I told my son to go get a coffee maker for the boat and that is what he brought back. He had assorted K-cups on board and I tried a Starbucks Italian Roast. I think that was the best cup of coffee I had ever had. So when my 3 month old Mr. Coffee machine died I just bought the Keurig. It truly fits the scenario where my wife and I like different coffees. As far as cost ? I quit smoking in 1973 so I spend what I want on my coffee.
