Latest Stimulus Check(s)

I'm retired but not drawing social security. Wife is still working and not drawing social security.

Brother-in-law is retired and drawing social security. His wife is not working, has earned 40 credits, but not old enough to draw social security. Both he and she got their $250 checks last week.

Lady down the road is drawing SS and got her check last week.


What is the criteria for the stimulus check(s).


I have yet to get my "military retiree" check yet either. Any of you get yours yet?

Haven't got one as a Military Retiree but got a letter from the VA stating that since I draw a disability check I would have my 250 dollars some time next week. Mike

Got my $250 SSDI stimulus about three weeks ago, direct deposit.

My wife's sister got one and she is not on social security. She is only 58. Her husband is retired and just started drawing his social security last year (at age 62).

Sounds like if one of "joint" return is drawing social security both get checks???

As far as I know, you just have to be recieving Social Security benefits. I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I promptly went out and bought a new pistol. Thanks, Mr. Obama!

I believe if you're getting Social Security, military or railroad pension you get the $250 now. If you're employed you get a reduction in withholding now and then a tax rebate when you file for 2009.

You have to be on SS as of Nov 2008 to get the $250, I think? I started at 62 in April. To those uninitiated to the SS system you need to be a Philadelphia Lawyer to understand the real deal.
