I think this is the biggest issue I have with getting older. I myself am not too old yet, as I have 60 coming up later this year, but I see all too many posts and emails like this more and more these days. My condolences to his family and friends.

Mancil Leon Sims
Mancil Leon Sims 78, of Oxford Alabama, passed away on April 19th, 2022 in his home. Funeral Service will be held at Bridge Church Of God in Oxford, Alabama on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, at 11:00 a.m followed by a graveside at Blacks Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Cole and Rev. John Roberts will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. A one hour visitation will also take place prior to the funeral service.

He is survived by his wife Judy Gann Sims; daughters, Rachel Sims O'Dell (Calvin), Samantha Diane Sims Elkins; grandchildren, Marcus O'Dell (Nikki), Ben Elkins; great granddaughter, Kennedy O'Dell; brother, Willie Clarence Sims; sister, Betty Ruth Crosson, and brother in law, J.D Forbus.

He is preceded in death by parents, Jessie Mancil Sims and Zelma Ruth Hendrix Sims; siblings, Elisha Gaye Sims, Jesse Robert Sims, Mary Ann Sims Forbus, Eva Lou Sims, James Douglass Sims.

Pallbearers will be Johnnie Gann, Charles Benefield, Donnie Elkins, Rodney Cortez, D.J Barrera, Rey Barrera.

His biggest pleasures in his last days was eating ice cream with his great granddaughter, Kennedy. His greatest hobbies were fishing, gardening and playing the guitar. He will always be remembered for wearing his conductor train hat. He always loved to sing and he always wrote beautiful poetry. He always loved studying genealogy of his family. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be truly missed.
 
Leon has passed away. Peacefully this morning.His wife sent me a email this evening. Why I was chosen to spread this word is in Gods and Leons hands,I just sent some kind words to him and family. Please keep his Miss Judy and family in your prayers.

Thank you for posting this. Leon got a lot of pleasure out of the forum.

The pleasure was ours. We miss him but we have his post history to remind us what the truly important, simple and joyous things are in daily life.

Leon was as grateful a man as I ever read about.
