Do the names Gump Worsley,Lou Fontinato,Bill Gatsby and Red Sullivan ring a bell?
The old Madison Square Garden on 8th Ave at 50th Street where a high school kid could buy a side balcony ticket for $0.50 but all the ice was only visible from the 1st two rows of seats up there.A mad dash once the gates opened.

Never went to the old Garden.
I used to hump loaded handtrucks in the garment district for $1.25 an hour in the summers up and down the concrete canyons.
That series took some years off my life...but in the end my boys prevailed.
Gonna be a different animal against the 'Canes. If I recall, the 'Canes took 3 of 4 this year from us. (Whereas, we've won 7 of the last ten from the Pens, including the playoffs.)
Rangers are the youngest team in the playoffs, so every game played will be experience carried forward. But I still hate losing. LOL.
Wednesday night at 7. Be there!!!
I went to my first Rangers playoffs games at the Garden in about '68 or so, versus Montreal. Only got to use two of my tickets before they swept us.
Still original 6 back then.
I thought Shesterkin played very well.
Game 2 is a must win for NY.
Agreed. He was back to playing the way he normally does.
The thing that impressed me with Carolina earlier in the season was how incredibly well conditioned they were. They seemed to be able to make runs up and down the ice without ever wearing down...while the opposition was gasping. (Brind'Amour has always been a fitness fanatic.)
That is the team that scares me more than anything else.
Anyway, I feel like we're playing with house money right now...but it will still hurt if they can't move on.
