Let's see some "souped-up" Sports!

That won't last.... its like a disease. Pretty soon you'll start hating that buttstock. Then you'll want to add an optic. After that you'll figure those standard hand guards are ugly (and they are).

Before you know it you'll be running around your house pretend "room clearing" with your light, quad rail, verticle grip and eotech, and a sling and .... And.... Etc etc etc. hahaha :)

Actually, you will tell yourself that you don't want to mess up your "perfect" rifle, so you'll leave it alone and start building another. And another, and.....

doing small stuff here and there but mainly buying tools and parts to build a second rifle for Long range shooting.

Magpull handguard
Ergo grip
Velocity 3lb trigger
Nikon 3x9x40 BDC 600 Scope w QD mount

stupid photo lol

Well as fate would have it, a friend of mine wanted to sell his Magpul furniture because he wanted to go from grey to black.
So, being the good guy I am, I picked up the furniture.

My only complaints about the stock config was the grip and the wobbly buttstock, the handguard was fine in my opinion. Anyway, I made it 2 months without changing anything on my M&P15. I just put on the Magpul CTR Buttstock and I will say, that second locking lever eliminates all wobbliness from the buttstock. I recommend it. Haven't installed the handguard yet because it's the SL and I think I have to remove the front sling mount.

Keeping optics off the M&P15Sport, though. We'll see how long that lasts. For now I can tell myself it's a good idea to keep the optics off because they wouldn't fit the takedown case I have for the gun.

Why not!

Here is mine, at this time it is at the S&W gunsmith's shop. I cannot wait to get it back from repairs. I hope S&W does me right I still cannot believe that the barrel got shot out after only like 2,000 rd in just a bit over a year and that's with not shooting all the time. I might even be figuring high on that round count. I got it back and have shot it and it's back to par, S&W stands behind there firearms, shipped it out they replaced the barrel and had it back to me just a bit over a week.

Here are the items installed on it.
UTG Pro series drop-in quad rail/ with Ergo rail covers
Carry handle GI mil-spec by AIMsports
BCM L4 charging handle
Tapco Shorty vertical grip
UTG bi-pod one reviewed by Nutanfancey
Hogue AR grip
Blackhawk buttstock
DPMS extra large safety
DPMS Jerry Miculek muzzle brake

Hogue grip (stock one sucked)
Magpul CTR Buttstock (stock one wobbled)
Magpul SL handguard (stock one fine, just prefer slimmer option, + heatshield)
Rail thing that clamps to front sight, added just as an easy way to attach a light. Magpul handguard prevents using that same light due to clearance issues, so I stuck an extra micro red laser module I had sitting around on there instead.

I have various optics options on hand (scopes and red dots), but I feel like a battle rifle should be iron sights to be 100% failproof. Optics on risers are an eyesore to me and QD options aren't "Q" enough. I'm perfectly proficient with irons for any scenario where I'd be justified in shooting.

Looks like a nice lightweight setup for you.

How much upgrading have you done to your entry level M&P-15 Sport? These are great rifles and I'm just curious what others have done to make them even better!

Here's a shot of mine... It's got a Midwest drop-in quad rail, a RRA 2-stage match trigger, FDE FAB Defense (Mako) furniture, a Leatherwood CMR 1-4x scope with SSALT mount from SWFA and a Streamlight TLR-1 HPL weapon light. It's a little heavy this way but it's got much improved ergonomics (IMO) and it's sure a nice shooter!

Minimal changes to my Sport. Vltor E-Mod stock, Tango Down grip, Midwest Industries Quad rail and Aimpoint ML2. Took off the vert grip...annoyed me when shooting.
