Here's my "dog of my lifetime," Ike. He was the Alpha male in his litter. Big, strong and the first to leave the litter to explore the house. Very smart and inquisitive.

The Boston Terrier is such a fantastic breed that I'm shocked they aren't #1 each year in popularity.

Smart, sassy, humorous, intuitive and loyal . . . dogs just don't come any better, even though there are a lot of good breeds.

My daughter-in-law calls Ike "The Human Dog," and for very good reasons. He's amazing . . . all the time and he's never "bad," truly!

I've been smiling every time I see this thread go back to the top.
A girl once hit me pretty hard for saying that very same phrase.

If you want to see what kind of a person someone is, get them a dog.

We currently have two black labs, Blackie and Pistol. Plus two horses, Little Joe and Taffy. And four chickens [they have names but I do not know them, but my daughter does]. A sheep named Rosie, she has been on my property for 15 years now. A fish named "Romeo". And a $1300.00 stray cat named Simba.

I want to especially thank those of you who have rescued dogs.

My wife had a poodle mix she rescued before I met her. Read the top line. Because of the way she treated that dog I knew she'd make a good Mom and a good wife. She treats me like a dog........just kidding.

I wanted to bring this thread up two years. Our pups have grown up, they were born in May 2010. My oldest son knew something was up when the dogs got real quiet in the back yard. He peeked out the window and grabbed his camera.
Here is Princess with the five at birth.

Yesterday they are at the fence barking at the deer!!

My son kept creeping closer and closer, then the dogs and deer realized he was there.

He uses a Nikon camera and his pictures of "his kids" playing bring a lot of joy. The old deer stand in the back is from the original ranch, my wife refused to let me move into onto our property before we put the fence up!!
