Fishslayer, You got that right. Never thought about it.
She's a little sweetheart. Good hunters for their size
those Dachsunds. I've read where they we're bred to hunt
badgers. Perfect size to go into a den hole and go after them.
Now ole Country Girl would'nt unless there was a treat down
the hole.

First there is McDuff, a rescue that I picked up in 1993. A Lab Terrier mix and the smartest dog that I've ever encountered. At 10 weeks old it took 10 days to housebreak him and the total number of "accidents" during that time was 4. Last two times he looked me right in the eyes while taking a pee, obviously testing to confirm that was the Big NO.

Second is Oscar, who wandered into the shop at work one cold day in October 2008. He'd been abandoned and living "rough" for about 3 to 4 months judging by the length of his coat. Since I'd been without a dog for about 9 months at that point I was ready for a new dog and he's been great. Not sure what he is, Vet suspects Lassa Apso/Cocker. When his coat is grown out he looks like a giant Lassa Apso (24 lbs.) with a temperment typical for that breed. As in no fear whatsoever of much larger dogs and an excellent Alert Dog.

Zebidiah (Zeb) My wire haired Dachshund, about 8 months in this pic, he has gotten shaggier and is growing a beard and bushy eyebrows.

My wife and I love the wire haired. They are traditional dogs in Bavaria. You'll see them everywhere but hardly ever see a short hair there. Exactly opposite from here.

Got any new pics?

Here's Joe, my best buddy pit bull mix, as a puppy. We just called him "the puppy" then. Check the "flying nun" ears!

As he grew, Joe got comfortable with us - and could find a place to sleep almost anywhere.

Here's my boy now, keeping vigil at the front door:

John

Beautiful puppy, John, gotta love those eyes!

Dogs are just the best.

'Dogs lives are too short...their only fault, really'...

Nice dogs.

The only pups I have are RAT pups. Not rat terrier pups. Rat pups! i think I have shared a picture of Coda before. We've added Spanky and Wednesday to the rat mix but have no pictures yet.

Kept in a room where cats are not allowed.
