Mystro,

You must sleep with that thing! :D Again, congrats on a fine shot and for all the nice background on it, made me feel like I was there, very nice indeed.

i dont have a pic handy but i got a doe last year with my 625 -9 mountain gun in 45 colt . was a handload of 8.0gr of 231 and a 255 gr swc was only about 30 yards away and went less than 10 it was my first deer with a handgun and im still amazed what a simple load like that will do

the old 65, struck again last night about 40 yards federal champion 158 grain jsp . Took this button buck down in his tracks with a neck shot.

My old S&W 581. Carried it for several years on the River with the U.S. Border Patrol, and for about a year as an Investigator. Had a gunsmith modify it a bit for CCW. 29 or 30 years ago, when it was still stock, I took a fair sized buck with it on a ranch in Texas at about 50 feet using the USBP issue 158 grn JSP load. Dropped him on the spot.

12/15/13 Button Buck - 460 XVR

Here's my 1st Iowa handgun deer that I took on 12/15/13 with my 460 XVR. The shot was made between 105-110 yards on this small button buck using the factory Hornady 200 gr ammo.

Good shooting guys.... Makes you wonder why some areas don't allow handgun hunting.

Well our past Governor's friend got mad because he couldn't take a buck during last winter season, so he enacted it in Illinois(the last state to enact concealed carry).
