Let's See Your J Frame Grips

I don't have photos of them mounted yet but these might be the coolest custom (square butt) J-frame stocks I've ever seen:

They look very Colt-ish.

I know, right?! :D

The real beauty of those stocks is that they do a superb job filling the hand to help with controlling recoil, a fusion of form AND function. They're no wider than the cylinder, and that extra 1/4" below the butt is just enough for my pinky finger to grab onto without compromising concealability. There's no telltale "I'm a gun!" grip outline even under a fairly close-fitting T-shirt (this is where a quality holster and belt plays a signifigant role).

Those ARE cool-looking, especially with the LEFTY thumbrest. Can't wait to see them installed. Where did you get those and who made them?

I found them on eBay last year and have no idea who made them. The "thumbrest" you refer to is actually a trigger-finger guide for a right-handed shooter. :)

These came on the gun. Beautiful but I have installed Pacy Combat grips that cover the backstrap and have a little more bulk in the palm of my hand. Not as concealable as the stock Airweight grips that came on my 638, which I do like, but easier on these old hands.

Those grips are awesome and come on TALO edition guns. I like those as good as the ones I bought for my 649 I posted earlier in the thread.

Hippo ivory......... Herretts which are my preferred carry and shooting grips on these little round butts. I think they also look pretty slick on the "humpbacks".

I really have never liked the look of the Herretts, but they do look good on the humpback.

I've just picked up my first two J frames. The 340PD felt like it could use something a little more hand-filling. The 442 just came to me today. I'll see how that feels before trying something else.

you didn't say, "pretty grips".

I have tried several types and brands of grips on this 37, and these just fit my hand to a T. This gun is carried nearly all the time for work and play. I think the sweat from my side is tarnishing the medallions but they clean up easy enough. They are numbered to the gun and have seen better days but they are a long way from being done. I love the look all the beautiful grips you folks posted. I would be worried about messing them up though. This little gun is a sweetheart to shoot and with the proper firm grip and standard pressure ammo it is fairly accurate. :p
Peace,
Gordon
