Nice find (as are all the others that have been posted). Those are clearly slices of important history that reflect on "The Greatest Generation" that kept us all from speaking German, Italian, or Japanese. Someday I may find one I can afford to go with my brother's 15-3 that he purchased when he left the USAF. He had been issued one as an Elite Guard at SAC HQ and fell in love with it.
The latter were fitted with faux stag grips....

I have a handful, two of which are stamped on the top strap as naval issue. The one shown below (V463XX) with the additional marking is my favorite, although the other (SV2612XX) is in better condition and interesting in its own right for having been updated with the improved hammer block.

I recognized this & bought it. It was advertised on GB as a "surplus S&W Victory revolver .45 acp, stamped Brazil 1937". I'd been looking for one of these, & went through every S&W sale on GB before finding it. No interest from buyers - kept the price low, & got my offer excepted. IT WAS FATE. I ordered it while in the hospital on a nurses laptop - healing from 5-way bypass surgery. IT was excellent medicine.
I was surprised to learn it had been part of the final delivery to Brazil in 1946 - the year, & month of my birth. Aside from shelf wear It's like new.
That's My VICTORY model story. C.

Late to the party as usual. This was my fathers pistol, he was a pilot during WWII. Flew for the Navy in a PB2Y-5, a 4 engine seaplane bomber. Until they came out with the B-17 it was one of the largest planes we flew.

I'm not real familiar with this site, please forgive me if my formatting is poor. Let's try some pictures. Also I had the piece lettered. Doesn't say much which I kind of expected.

Enjoy!
